Dragon is the headline pet in Ride A Pet, and there are only two ways to roll for it. One costs nothing but travel time, the other costs Robux and skips the hunt entirely. Neither improves your odds past 1% per attempt, which is the single number that should shape how much you spend.
Quick answer: Two routes hatch a Dragon, and both sit at 1% per attempt — free Galaxy Eggs collected from the map, or Robux Dragon Egg rolls bought in the Shop from 99 Robux.

Dragon Egg rolls in the Shop (Robux)
The paid route is an instant roll. You open the Shop from the on-screen menu, where the Giant Egg sits alongside the gamepasses such as Infinite Radar and the cash packages, then pick a Dragon Egg pack. There is no carrying, no timer, and no chance of another player stealing the result.
Packs are sold at 99, 249, 799 and 3,499 Robux. Larger packs buy more rolls, not better odds, so the Dragon slot stays at 1% no matter which one you pick.

The mid-tier slots have been shown differently at times, with T-Rex at 30% and Phoenix at 15%, so read the percentages on the live panel before you buy. The Dragon line is the one that has held steady at 1%.
Each roll is independent. Fifty rolls do not guarantee a Dragon, and there is no pity counter behind the 1%.
Free route: Hunt Galaxy Eggs on the map
Galaxy Eggs spawn into the world as objects you pick up, and they carry the same 1% Dragon chance on hatch. The catch is everything between spotting one and hatching it: a short pickup window, a break timer while you carry it, and every other player on the server racing you to the same egg.
If Track shows only low-value eggs, wait for the reset rather than burning a radar charge. The Hatch Luck board at your plot is also there between runs if you want to push your luck multiplier up a step.
Radar tiers and what they cost
A radar does one job: it locks a hidden egg and gives you direction and distance. It does not change what hatches, so buy the cheapest tier that keeps your loop running.

As you learn the map, begin with the $50 Advanced Radar, then switch to Royal once your plot income comfortably covers $20,000. You do not need Infinite Radar for Galaxy Eggs; it becomes useful only when stock shortages or usage limits repeatedly end your sessions early. Once a hunt ends, a completion notice appears, such as Royal Radar Finished, and another radar is needed for the next lock.
How to tell the run actually counted
An egg only counts once it reaches My Plot and goes into an available nest before the Egg Will Break countdown ends. A sighting, a lock, or even a successful pickup is not progress on its own. After the hatch finishes, the pet appears in your roster and a new entry lands in the Index under the Eggs category, which tracks tier progression all the way up to the 1T egg.
Runs fail for three specific reasons worth knowing before you spend a radar charge:
- Another player grabs the egg your radar locked — the game names who took it.
- Since carrying an egg slows your mount, Egg Will Break reaches zero during the trip home.
- While carrying an egg, you may accidentally hit Drop.
Both Dragon routes reward volume over ambition. The free path costs radar cash and travel time per 1% roll, the paid path costs Robux and skips the travel, and the sensible play is picking the one you can repeat without stalling your other progress. Confirm the prices and percentages on the live Shop and Gears boards before committing, since those values move between updates while the 1% Dragon slot has not.
