Ride A Pet: How to Get the Dragon (Free and Robux Methods)

The Dragon is the highest-earning pet in Ride A Pet, and there are exactly two ways to pull one. You can hunt Galaxy Eggs that spawn around the map for free, or you can buy instant-hatch Dragon Eggs from the in-game shop with Robux. Neither route improves your odds — both land on the same 1% chance per egg.

Quick answer: Hatch Galaxy Eggs that spawn on the map (grab them inside the 20-second window), or buy Dragon Egg [Instant Hatch] rolls in the shop. Each roll is a 1% Dragon chance.

A base income of 300 million makes the Dragon the strongest money pet in the game. It is not the fastest, though. The Kitsune runs at 1 billion base speed, so players chasing pure movement usually keep a Kitsune equipped and rely on the Dragon for earnings.

Free method: Catching Galaxy Egg spawns

Galaxy Eggs appear at random points on the map with a floating label and a countdown above them. Anyone can claim one, and they carry the same 1% Dragon roll as the paid egg, which makes them the entire free-to-play strategy.

Stop spending in-game money on standard eggs. Ordinary eggs cannot produce a Dragon, so every coin you sink into them is wasted progress toward this goal.

Equip and upgrade your fastest available pet before you start hunting. Travel speed decides whether you reach a spawn in time, so put your speed upgrades in first and go after the Dragon second.

Park yourself near the middle of the map instead of tucking into a corner. A central position cuts the worst-case travel distance to any spawn point and gives you a usable reaction window in every direction.

Watch for the Galaxy Egg label to pop up and move the moment it does. The pickup window is 20 seconds, after which the egg disappears and the chance is gone.

Learn where eggs tend to land. Other spawn types such as the Aurora Egg and Cherub Egg use the same countdown behaviour, so chasing them is free practice for the routes you will need when a Galaxy Egg drops.

Robux method: Dragon Egg [Instant Hatch] in the shop

The paid route removes the map hunt entirely. Dragon Egg [Instant Hatch] rolls open the moment you buy them, so you can burn through attempts back to back instead of waiting on spawns.

Fifty separate 1% pulls work out to roughly a 40% cumulative chance of landing at least one Dragon. That means 3,499 Robux leaves you more likely to finish with no Dragon than with one.

Treat the Robux route as a way to take more attempts quickly, not as a purchase of the pet itself. There is no bad-luck protection and no guaranteed drop at any bundle size.

How to confirm you hatched the Dragon

From there, equipping the Dragon switches your income rate over to its base value, and mounting it brings up the standard Dismount prompt like any other rideable pet. Keep hatching Galaxy Eggs between shop purchases either way — the free route costs nothing but map awareness, and it rolls the exact same 1%.
