Weather events in Ride A Pet strike your eggs and pets with one of five mutations, each raising a pet’s earnings rate, movement speed, sale value, or a mix of those. A pet can only hold one mutation at a time, and a stronger mutation replaces a weaker one when a better event rolls. The order below ranks all five by how much value they add.
Quick answer: Eternal is the top mutation at 100x Cash. Rage sits second for its 4x Cash and 4x Speed, Volted third, Void fourth, and Shocked last.

Ride A Pet mutation tier list
| Tier | Mutation | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| S | Eternal | 100x Cash |
| A | Rage | 4x Cash, 4x Speed |
| B | Volted | 3x Cash, 3x Speed |
| C | Void | 10x Cash |
| D | Shocked | 2x Cash, 2x Speed |
Rankings reflect the mutation multipliers active in September 2026. Placement weighs the total value a mutation adds, with a strong preference for effects that raise both income and speed rather than income alone.

Eternal is the clear best mutation. Its 100x Cash multiplier lifts a pet’s earnings rate and sale value far beyond what any other event delivers, more than the rest of the mutations put together. If an Eternal storm hits your base, the pets and eggs it touches become your most valuable assets.
Rage earns the A spot because it improves both sides of a pet at once. The 4x Speed is the highest movement boost any mutation offers, and the matching 4x Cash keeps earnings competitive. That balance makes a Rage pet ideal when you want a mount that moves fast and still pulls in money.
Volted is a slightly weaker version of Rage, giving 3x Cash and 3x Speed. It is a dependable early pickup that raises both stats while you build toward stronger mutations. Keep Volted pets in rotation until a Rage or Eternal event upgrades them.
Void looks strong on paper with a 10x Cash multiplier, but it only touches earnings and sale value, leaving movement speed untouched. Because it adds nothing to how fast a pet travels and falls well short of Eternal’s income, it settles into the C tier as a cash-only pick.
Shocked is the weakest mutation, with a modest 2x Cash and 2x Speed. It is the most common result of a weather event and works fine as a stopgap, but you should aim to overwrite it as soon as a stronger storm appears.

How mutations are applied
Every mutation comes from a matching weather event on the server. A single event out of Eternal, Void, Rage, Volted, and Shocked can roll each time the weather changes, and every event lasts five minutes. The lightning storm during that window applies its mutation to eggs and pets in your base.
- Eggs on the map take on the active mutation and can hatch pets carrying it.
- Pets in your Pen have a chance to be struck and mutated during the event.
- A pet you are actively riding can also catch the mutation while outside your base.
- Pets sitting in your inventory cannot be mutated by weather.
A pet holds only one mutation. When a stronger event strikes a pet that already has a weaker mutation, the new effect replaces the old one. So a Shocked pet caught in a Rage or Eternal storm keeps only the higher multiplier.
Keep your best pets in the Pen or ride them during a strong event, and have high-rarity eggs ready before a useful storm rolls, since the five-minute window is your only chance to catch it.
A mutated pet earns more per second, sells for a higher price, and, for the Speed-boosting mutations, moves faster around the map. Because a single Eternal or Rage strike can transform a pet’s value, watching the weather and prepping the right eggs is one of the most efficient ways to climb.
