Songkeeper’s Grove is where every SCROOMS run begins, and it hands you four instruments to work with before you ever leave the area. One comes free from Leo, and the other three sit on Jane’s stall for Chimes. Each card lists the same spread of stats, so the choice comes down to which numbers you want and how many Chimes you are willing to spend. You can try the comparison yourself in SCROOMS on Roblox.
Quick answer: The Violin of Pilgrimage (4,500 Chimes) is the strongest Songkeeper’s Grove instrument, while the Adventurer’s Tambourine (750 Chimes) is the value pick if you cannot afford the Violin yet.
Songkeeper’s Grove instruments ranked
| Instrument | Tier |
|---|---|
| S | |
| Adventurer’s Tambourine | A |
| B | |
| C |
The order here comes from the printed stats only. An instrument ranks higher when it leads or ties for the lead on more stats, and Luck breaks any ties. No card explains what each stat does in the tuning and catching minigames, so this is a straight read of the numbers.
The stat spreads shown in the shop window match the cards in the Equipment Bag.

Only the Tambourine and the Violin carry a Tune Speed line and a Resonance of II. The Lute and the Guitar sit at Resonance I with no Tune Speed at all.
Every Songkeeper’s Grove instrument explained
Violin of Pilgrimage (S tier)
Violin of Pilgrimage leads on Harmony, ties for the highest Tension, and sits at Resonance II. What separates it from the rest is Luck, where it pulls far ahead of every other option in the grove at +40% against +8% for the next best. Its Precision (+4%) is lower than the Guitar’s and the Tambourine’s, and its Tune Speed (+5%) is lower than the Tambourine’s; it leads on Harmony and Luck and ties for the highest Tension. A traditional violin of this kind is the sort monks carried on Eversong expeditions, and it is the instrument you build toward.

Adventurer’s Tambourine (A tier)
Adventurer’s Tambourine is the clear middle step. It owns the best Tune Speed of the four, ties the Violin on Tension, and matches it on Resonance II. It also comes second on both Harmony and Luck, which keeps it useful well past the point where you can afford it. At 750 Chimes, it costs a sixth of the Violin while giving up far less than that price gap suggests. If you want an upgrade that pays off quickly, this is it.
Tamer’s Guitar (B tier)
Tamer’s Guitar has the highest Precision in the grove, and that is its only lead. Everywhere else it trails the two Resonance II instruments, sitting at Resonance I with no Tune Speed and low Harmony, Tension and Luck. Its real appeal is the price. At 100 Chimes it is the cheapest upgrade over the free Lute, so it works as a stopgap while you save for the Tambourine or the Violin.

Wooden Lute (C tier)
Wooden Lute is the free instrument Leo gives you at the start, and it is last on every stat. It carries only a small Precision bonus, with zero Harmony, Tension and Luck. It is fine for your first catches, but any of Jane’s three instruments beats it the moment you can pay. The in-game note calls it worn but perfectly in tune, which is about the extent of what it offers.

How to buy an instrument from Jane

Equip a new instrument and confirm it
Buying an instrument does not equip it for you. Open the Equipment Bag from hotbar slot 2, stay on the Instruments tab, and click “Equip” on the card you want to use.

You know it worked when the card for the active instrument reads “Equipped” instead of “Equip,” and hotbar slot 1 shows that instrument’s name. The “?” button on any card opens a page with the same stats plus Total Catches and Time Played for that instrument, which is handy for tracking how much you actually use each one.
SCROOMS has plenty more instruments past the grove, among them the Crooked Chime, Deepchord, Ballad of Three Reigns, Sorin’s Last Verse, Magus’ Requiem, Stillwater Flute, Blackwood Fiddle, Heartwood Drum and Runed Horn. Their stats sit outside this ranking, but for everything you can reach in Songkeeper’s Grove, the Violin of Pilgrimage is the instrument worth saving for.
