Slayer 2: How to Farm Nightfall and Firstlight Materials Fast

Three farming routes, drop rates, and the 1:1 material swap that saves you from re-grinding specific bosses.

Three farming routes, drop rates, and the 1:1 material swap that saves you from re-grinding specific bosses.

Nightfall and Firstlight gear in Slayer 2 pulls from six crafting materials that drop from chests, and the fastest way to build a full set is to stack the three highest-yield farming routes rather than grinding one at a time. World Boss chests, Ouwigahara chests, and Roguelike mode tokens each feed the same material pool, and surplus from one set can be converted into the other for free.

Quick answer: Ouwigahara chests give the best odds at 5% per chest, with one free chest every 10 floors and more buyable for 30,000 points. Run World Boss rotations alongside it, then trade Roguelike tokens at Changer Zeni.

The six Nightfall and Firstlight materials

Each weapon and armor set needs three rare components, plus common items like Metal Scraps, Silk Thread, and Wen that you pick up along the way. Before farming, open Blacksmith Togane in Hidden Mist Village to read the exact recipe for the piece you want so you know which of the six to prioritize.

SetMaterials
NightfallForged Ingot, Reinforced Plating, Weaver’s Cloth
FirstlightForged Ingot, Star Ore, Weaver’s Silk

As a reference point, the Nightfall Katana recipe asks for 12 Nightfall Forged Ingot, 500 Metal Scraps, and 500 Silk Thread at a cost of 1,500,000 Wen. Armor pieces are cheaper. The Nightfall Mask needs 4 Reinforced Plating and 3 Forged Ingot for 450,000 Wen, and the Nightfall Top needs 3 Forged Ingot, 4 Reinforced Plating, and 3 Weaver’s Cloth for 400,000 Wen.

Method 1: World Boss rotations (2% drop)

Defeating a World Boss spawns a World Events Chest that has a 2% chance to hold a featured material, on top of accessories and Wen. The bosses that are active depend on whether it is day or night, so you run two separate loops. Unlock the regional fast-travel Shrines first to cut down travel time between spawns.

Daytime rotation

During the day, run Saneri below Windy Peak, then Shinora at Mistfall Harbor, Obari near the Mother Bear area, and Giyen at the Bamboo Grove Sanctuary pool. Keep moving between spawns in that order to avoid backtracking.

Nighttime rotation

At night, start with Sumari in the Bamboo Grove water channel, then Reaper, followed by Gyutai and Dotai in the cave near Windy Peak. The cave demons spawn regardless of the time of day, so you can clean them up on either loop.

Pick up any matching Kasugai Crow or Muzan elimination quests for extra Wen and XP, but don’t stand around waiting for a quest to appear. Keep the rotation moving and collect rewards when they line up.

Method 2: Ouwigahara chests (5% drop)

Ouwigahara chests carry a 5% material drop chance, more than double the World Events Chest rate, which makes this the most efficient per-chest source. You unlock the mode at level 65 by taking Blacksmith Togane’s quest, then queue into Ouwigahara Normal straight from the Hub. Normal difficulty gives three hearts, so it is the safest choice for deep farming runs.

You earn one free chest for every 10 floors cleared. Any run points you build up can be spent at the end area on extra chests priced at 30,000 points each. Points do not carry between runs, so spend everything before you leave the dungeon.

Deep Ouwigahara runs stack free chests every 10 floors and build the points you spend on extra chests at the exit. Shown at 03:54 in Ashira RBX’s video.

While climbing, favor cards that boost point multipliers and survivability so you reach higher floors. Pick up point-scaling choices and leave weak flat rewards until later floors when the big Fortune cards appear.

Method 3: Roguelike tokens at Changer Zeni

Roguelike mode is a separate climb where your gear is built entirely from card picks, and it pays out in Ouwigahara Tokens. A full climb awards 82 tokens, with 20 of those coming from the summit floor alone.

Take those tokens to Changer Zeni in the hub and buy Series Material packs at 20 tokens each. One completed climb covers four purchases and leaves you with 2 tokens spare. This route is a steady, guaranteed alternative to chasing chest RNG.

Swap surplus materials 1:1 at Blacksmith Togane

When one material is piling up and another is scarce, you can skip another boss run. Visit Blacksmith Togane in Hidden Mist Village and choose “Swap materials”; any of the six Nightfall and Firstlight materials can be traded for a different one at a fixed 1:1 rate.

That means a stack of surplus Firstlight Star Ore can be turned straight into the Nightfall Forged Ingot your next recipe needs. It removes the usual problem of being stuck one material short while sitting on duplicates of another.

Luck boosts and the Ubuyashiki passive

Timed 2x and 4x Luck boosters raise the chance that a chest holds a material. Because they run on a timer, activate them only after your travel route is set and your build is ready, so none of the duration is wasted on setup. Joining the Ubuyashiki clan adds a permanent +2% Drop Luck Factor on top of whatever booster is active.

You’ll know the farm is working when a chest drops one of the six named components into your inventory, which you can confirm under Archives in the Materials menu. Once your counts match the recipe at Blacksmith Togane, the craft option becomes available and the gear is yours to forge. Running World Boss loops and Ouwigahara in the same session, then topping up gaps with Roguelike tokens and the 1:1 swap, is the fastest path to a complete Nightfall or Firstlight set.
