Star Wars Galactic Racer: Trophy Guide and Roadmap to Galactic Champion

Every requirement for the platinum, the fastest way to grind the campaign, and why 50 Arcade Gold times decide how hard it gets.

The platinum in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Galactic Champion, is a long one. It wraps a roguelite campaign, a Champion-difficulty finale, 20 Favors, 14 Racer Styles, three vehicles, 12 Tales of Podracing events, 11 rival duels, and 50 Arcade Gold times into a single trophy. None of it is missable and nothing is glitched, but a chunk of it is skill-gated, and the rest is a grind measured in dozens of hours.

Quick answer: Beat the Campaign once on any difficulty to unlock Champion, clear Act 3 on Champion for Racer of Legend, replay Act 2 or Act 3 at least 14 times to win the Galactic Gauntlet with every Favor, Racer Style and vehicle, then take Gold in all 50 Arcade time trials.

Galactic Racer platinum snapshot

The trophy list is 50 trophies total, all offline, with no online requirement. Difficulty does matter, because one silver trophy demands an Act 3 clear on Champion. Expect a long completion window that swings heavily on your racing skill and some luck with map layouts.

After you finish the Campaign you can freely repeat Act 3, and restarting the Campaign keeps any Logbook progress you have already made. The platinum needs no DLC. The Deluxe Edition adds three extra Arcade trials, and it is not currently confirmed whether those count toward the Gold-times trophy.

Settings that make the grind easier

Three accessibility options remove a lot of friction. Simple Pre-Race Checks cuts down the button inputs at the start of each event. Auto-Deactivate Ramjet shuts the Ramjet off as it nears the end of the Redline zone, so you don’t blow up if you look away. Boost Mode lets you fire Afterburner or Ramjet with a tap instead of a hold.

A save-scumming option matters throughout. With PlayStation Plus you can disable auto-sync for the game and manually upload a cloud backup before risky races or Hibi’s Shop restocks, then download it to undo a bad result. Without Plus, closing the game application mid-race drops you back at the start of that race, since finishing an event saves immediately.

Turn off Auto-Deactivate Ramjet before going for Risk, No Reward, which requires blowing up by overheating the Ramjet. With the setting on, the game stops the overheat for you.

The four-stage roadmap

Stage 1 — Finish the Campaign on any difficulty (around 10 hours). The Campaign is a roguelite split into three Acts, and getting knocked out sends you back to the start of that Act. Each run banks permanent Tuning Points and unlocks Racer Styles and Favors that make later runs easier. Completing it once opens Champion difficulty. During this run, prioritise the “?” Mystery Encounter nodes, since several Favors are locked behind repeat encounters with Biddy Blas, Malis Vazosk and Katja Mox. Keep Clandestine Aid equipped through Act 2, because you need a Galactic Gauntlet win with it and it cannot be equipped in Act 3.

Stage 2 — Clear Act 3 on Champion difficulty (around 5 hours). With the Campaign done, you can tackle the rest in any order. Champion raises opponent skill and aggression, but the real change is crashes: your allowance drops and does not refresh after every event. Instead you only get 3 crashes back when you start a new planet. Do several normal runs first to unlock and upgrade useful Favors, Parts, Abilities and Styles before committing.

Stage 3 — Campaign cleanup (40–60 hours). This is the bulk of the platinum. You must win the Galactic Gauntlet with every Favor, every Racer Style and every vehicle, which means replaying an Act at least 14 times. Always swap in a different loadout each run so no attempt is wasted.

Stage 4 — Arcade (15–30 hours). Gold in all 50 Arcade time trials. This is the hardest and most skill-dependent part of the run, which is why the overall difficulty sits at 8/10.

Spend less time grinding by restarting the Campaign and repeating Act 2. The Galactic Gauntlet is the second-to-last event in Acts 2 and 3: finish it, then intentionally lose the final race to Kestar Bool to return to Act 2’s beginning. Act 3 takes considerably longer because it adds a planet and story Podracing events.

What the 14 Gauntlet runs must cover

On Derven Acos, the Galactic Gauntlet consists of three Eliminator Race stages. Each mastery trophy is tracked on its own, and the Logbook marks every Favor, Style or vehicle you’ve already used to win one as “Mastered.” Vary your loadouts between runs to complete several entries without using tours unnecessarily.

  • Win with all 20 Favors (United by a Beautiful Dream) — three Favors per run, so at least 7 runs.
  • Win with all 14 Racer Styles (Racing Master) — one Style per run, so at least 14 runs.
  • Win with all three vehicles (I Can Fly Anything) — Landspeeder by default, Speeder Bike for 10 Tuning Points, Skim Speeder for 20.
  • Complete all 12 Tales of Podracing events with Sebulba (Hail to the Winner, Sebulba).
  • Beat all 11 rivals in Rivalry Head-to-Heads (Best of the Best).
  • Unlock all 20 Favors and all 14 Racer Styles along the way.

Clandestine Aid is the one Favor that can only clear the Gauntlet during Act 2, so equip it the very first time you reach the Act 2 Gauntlet. Miss that and you have to restart the Campaign and replay Acts 1 and 2 to get it back.

Rivals, sidebets and Mystery Encounters

Starting in Act 2, you can bet on one of three competitors before a Standard or Eliminator race. Repeatedly betting against one competitor on a planet may make them your Rival a planet or two later, triggering a one-on-one Head-to-Head that you have to win. There are 11 rivals to find; Kestar Bool is ineligible. To do this quickly, reset tours until a competitor you still need appears as a sidebet on the first planet, make them your rival, and then continue.

Three Favors come from repeated Mystery Encounters, and each has its own condition. Biddy Blas (Racer Roulette) wants you winning the events between his encounters while picking the right prompts. Malis Vazosk (Underhanded Upperhand) charges escalating credits, up to 7,000 on the fourth encounter. Katja Mox (Second Chance) hands you handicaps to race under across several planets. Reset tours until you have at least three Mystery Encounters on the map, including one on the first planet, so you actually make progress each run.

Racer of Legend: beating Kestar Bool on Champion

You only need to clear Act 3 on Champion, not restart the whole Campaign. Because crashes don’t refresh between events and only top up by 3 on each new planet, pick a loadout built around survival. Mad Genius gives two extra crashes and Tenacious adds one more. Gadgeteer lets you fit extra Parts, and a fully upgraded Victorious Loser pays out credits regardless of finishing position so you can play it safe.

During the tour, favour Field Test, Podracing Test, Mystery Encounter and Scrap Dealer nodes, since none of those can cost you league tokens or crashes. When you must race, Standard events are far safer than Eliminators, as finishing 12th still progresses you so long as you don’t wreck out.

A Ramjet and Cooling build for Champion

  • Vehicle: Speeder Bike — Cornering 3, Ramjet 4, Battery 3, Kinetic Burst 4.
  • Racer Style: Ramjet Rider.
  • Favors: Mad Genius, Gadgeteer, plus Victorious Loser (safe) or Unassuming Prodigy / High Roller (aggressive).
  • Parts: Cooling and Ramjet focus — Surplus Cooling, Ramjet Cooling IV, Heat Reduction IV, Enhanced Coolant IV, Ramjet Power IV, Ramjet Accelerator IV, Shielding Ramjet, Faster Attachments IV.
  • Abilities: Supercooled or Corrosive Vent, Overcharged Autopilot II, Overtaking Surge II, and Concussion Mine III or Concussive Bolt II.

Arcade: 50 Gold times for Big Mystery Racer

Arcade provides 50 time trials in the base game, each with preset vehicles and tracks. Every trial has a distinct theme, such as Podracer arcade races against other racers or runs focused on staying Frozen or Cooled, making Perfect Landings, or passing every checkpoint to cut time. Some Gold targets allow room for a mistake. Others require a flawless run, a memorized route, and precise use of your vehicle’s abilities and Parts.

One Gold time anywhere unlocks the bronze Friendly Exhibition Race. All 50 unlock the silver Big Mystery Racer, the single hardest trophy in the game and the reason the platinum sits where it does on difficulty.

Mechanic-specific trophies worth setting up for

A handful of trophies ask you to hold a boost state for a fixed time. These may not pop the instant you hit the threshold; they often trigger at the start of the next event or when you finish the tour.

  • Punch it, Shade! (Ramjet 60s) — just run a Ramjet Field Test, where Ramjet lasts nearly forever. No special build needed.
  • Speed is Dangerous, Embrace it Anyway (Surge 60s) — use Slipstreamer or Clean Racer and stack Surge Parts like Critical Surging and Surplus Surging.
  • The Most Dangerous Racing in the Galaxy (Overcharged 40s) — Overcharged Autopilot with Tenacious or Tech Expert, plus Overcharge-granting Parts.
  • Very Fast, Very Dangerous (Afterburner 60s) — Afterburner style with Afterburner Efficiency IV and Cooled or Surging extenders.
  • Hibi’s Speedies (650 km/h) — comes naturally on Ramjet; add Ramjet Power Parts or layer Surge if needed.
  • The Fastest Ever Built (4 Legendary Parts) — buy three from a Scrap Dealer node or upgrade equipped Level 3 Parts at Hibi’s Shop.

Each of the three named Racer Style challenges has its own unlock requirement. For Brawler’s Raging Rancor, score five takedowns in a single race. Tech Expert’s Speed and Violence requires five Ion Bolt hits; since Tech Expert lacks Ion Bolt at the start, first earn it in Sebulba’s seventh Tales of Podracing event, Fear and Respect. Redliner’s One Hell of a Thrill requires five seconds at speeds above 550 km/h, achievable on a long straight with a maxed Ramjet stat.

How you know the platinum is done

Track the three Gauntlet mastery trophies through the Logbook, where cleared Favors, Styles and vehicles read “Mastered.” Rival progress shows as vehicle colour unlocks, one per beaten rival, visible at the start of a tour or planet. Once all 49 other trophies are earned, including the Act 3 Champion win and all 50 Arcade Gold times, Galactic Champion unlocks automatically and the platinum is yours.
