Star Wars Zero Company: How to Get Mandalorian Armor (PC Mods)

Beskar helmets and armor plates are locked behind PC mods, and here is exactly what to install to unlock them.

Beskar helmets and armor plates are locked behind PC mods, and here is exactly what to install to unlock them.

Beskar plating looks great in Star Wars: Zero Company, and the game keeps almost all of it away from you. The Mandalorian who joins your roster wears it. Your version of Hawks, your clones and your custom operators do not get the option in the standard wardrobe. The armor sets exist in the game files, they are just not offered as normal customization choices for human characters.

Quick answer: On PC, install UE4SS for Star Wars Zero Company, then install either the “Full Customization Mod-Mandalorian Padawan and more” mod through Vortex or the ZeroCompanyMandoWardrobe mod manually. The Mandalorian helmets, tops, armwear and lower body pieces then appear in the customization terminal at the Den.

Mandalorian armor is PC-only, and it needs UE4SS

There is no console route here. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players cannot unlock these parts, because both approaches depend on injecting a mod loader into the Windows executable. Everything below assumes the Steam version on PC.

Both mods share the same dependency. UE4SS for Star Wars Zero Company is a game-specific compatibility build that loads native mods, and neither wardrobe mod does anything without it. You can grab it from the UE4SS for Star Wars Zero Company mod page, which requires a free Nexus Mods account.

Option 1: Install the full customization mod with Vortex

This is the easier path. Vortex handles the file placement for you, and the mod unlocks a wide spread of outfits at once, including Mandalorian headwear and armor plus Jedi tunics and clone sets.

Download and install the Vortex mod manager, then sign in with your Nexus Mods account. Vortex is the free official manager, so nothing else is needed on the tooling side.
Add Star Wars Zero Company as a managed game inside Vortex. Vortex will pull down the game extension for it the first time you do this, which tells it where the mod files belong.
Open the “Full Customization Mod-Mandalorian Padawan and more” page on Nexus Mods and use Manual download on the main ZCUnlocked file. A requirements prompt will point you at the UE4SS compatibility build, so download that as well.
In Vortex, choose Install from File and select both archives, one after the other. You are looking for entries named along the lines of ZCUnlocked-10-1-0-1724115137.zip and UE4SS_v3.0.0_for_Star_Wars_Zero_Company-11-3-0-0-1724115217.zip.
Enable both mods in Vortex and deploy, then launch the game from Vortex rather than from Steam. Expect a shader compilation pass on the first boot after adding the mod loader.
Load a save, walk to the customization terminal in the Den, and open the character customization menu. The new pieces sit under the Outfits tab in the usual slots.

Option 2: Install ZeroCompanyMandoWardrobe for colorable armor

The second mod takes a narrower approach. Instead of opening up every authored outfit, it adds the Man001, Man002 and Cly armor sets that already ship with the game into the normal colorable wardrobe for human characters. That means sixteen ordinary wardrobe entries across headwear, tops, armwear, lower body and boots, each using the game’s standard per-slot color controls.

It also solves problems the blunt unlock does not. Backpacks stay attached to the armor they belong to instead of showing up as broken standalone tiles, the Man001 and Man002 helmets are fitted around the animated head pivot to stop face clipping, and helmeted characters use the game’s own filtered helmet voice in conversations.

The trade-off is version sensitivity. Version 0.4.1 only supports Steam build 24874058, and the installer verifies SHA-256 hashes for the game executable, the UE4SS DLL and the mod DLL before touching anything. If any of the three does not match, it refuses rather than guessing.

Close the game completely. Installing, updating or removing a native DLL while a UE4SS session is running is not supported.
Install UE4SS first. In Steam, right-click Star Wars: Zero Company, choose Manage, then Browse local files, and open SWZeroCompany\Binaries\Win64. Extract the UE4SS package there so the folder contains ue4ss\UE4SS.dll.
Download the release ZIP from the ZeroCompanyMandoWardrobe repository, right-click it, and use Extract All. Do not run anything from inside the ZIP preview window.
Double-click Install-Wardrobe.cmd in the extracted folder and leave the window open until it prints INSTALL COMPLETE. The installer finds the game through Steam’s library list on its own, makes a recoverable backup, copies only the wardrobe DLL, and enables the mod.
If Windows blocks the .cmd file, open PowerShell in the extracted folder by typing powershell into the File Explorer address bar, then run the script directly.
powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File ".\Install-Wardrobe.ps1"

If auto-detection cannot locate the install, pass the binary folder yourself with the -GameBin parameter, using the full path copied from File Explorer’s address bar.

Manual install: The exact folder layout

If you would rather place the files yourself, copy the entire ZeroCompanyMandoWardrobe folder from the download’s payload\ue4ss\Mods directory into the game’s mods folder. The finished DLL has to land at exactly this path, with no second nested folder of the same name.

...\Star Wars Zero Company\SWZeroCompany\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\ZeroCompanyMandoWardrobe\dlls\main.dll

Then open ue4ss\Mods\mods.txt in Notepad and add the enable line below. Edit the file, do not replace it, because other installed mods have their own entries in there.

How to confirm the Mandalorian armor unlocked

The in-game check is simple. Open the customization terminal at the Den and look through the Outfits tab. Under Headwear, Tops, Armwear and Lower Body you should see entries that were not there before, including MANDALORIAN 1 and MANDALORIAN 2 alongside the clone and Cly armor sets. With the wardrobe mod, those parts also respond to the normal color sliders.

The wardrobe mod gives you a second, more reliable check. On startup it writes either a READY line or a REFUSED line with a reason into ue4ss\UE4SS.log. If you see REFUSED, the mod deliberately disabled itself rather than running against a build it does not recognize.

Why the armor does not appear

SymptomCause and fix
No new outfits at allUE4SS is missing or in the wrong folder. Confirm ue4ss\UE4SS.dll sits inside Win64.
Installer stops earlyA file hash did not match. The mod only supports Steam build 24874058.
Log shows REFUSEDThe executable or UE4SS build is unrecognized, usually after a game update.
Mod ignored on launchmods.txt is missing the ZeroCompanyMandoWardrobe : 1 line, or the DLL is one folder too deep.
Vortex mods do nothingThe mods were installed but not enabled and deployed, or the game was started outside Vortex.

Note: a game patch will very likely break the wardrobe mod until a newly verified release is published, since it validates the executable identity and native function prologues before enabling itself.

Removing the mod without breaking your save

Before you uninstall anything, put every affected character back into a stock outfit and save. Loading a save that still points at mod-enabled Mandalorian parts with the mod gone has not been fully tested, and that is the one step worth not skipping.

With the game closed, the wardrobe mod ships scripts to disable it while keeping the DLL, or to uninstall it and retain a recoverable backup. Run Uninstall-Wardrobe.ps1 from the extracted folder, and add -RemoveFiles -StockOutfitConfirmed once you have saved with stock gear on. Vortex users simply disable the mods and deploy again.

Achievements appear to stay available with the wardrobe mod, since no achievement-blocking code or mod gate was found in the game, though that has not been confirmed by earning one under this exact setup. Either way, the Mandalorian pieces are unofficial fan work with no connection to Bit Reactor, EA or Lucasfilm, so treat game updates as the point where you check for a new build before launching.
