Speed is the stat that decides everything in Steal An Egg. It sets which biomes you can walk into, which eggs you can carry home, and whether the guardian chasing you catches up before you hit the safe zone. Your current total sits in the bottom-left corner of the screen next to a shoe icon, and it only goes up in a handful of ways.
Quick answer: Train on the Treadmill in front of your base, spend pet income on Treadmill upgrades first, then buy the strongest Trail you can afford for its Speed multiplier. Robux Speed packs are the only instant option, ranging from +150K to +1B Speed.
Speed requirements for all nine biomes
Before grinding, pick a target. Each biome lists a minimum Speed, and every one of them has a guardian that will ragdoll you and make you drop whatever egg you were carrying if you are too slow.
| Biome | Speed needed |
|---|---|
| Forest | No minimum |
| Lake | 900 |
| Desert | 10K |
| Jungle | 40K |
| Snow | 170K |
| Volcano | 700K |
| Abyss Ocean | 2.5 million |
| Prehistoric | 17 million |
| Cosmic | 700 million |
These are entry numbers, not escape numbers. Treat them as the floor and aim above them, especially for the larger eggs in each area.

Add to Google Preferences →Upgrade the Treadmill for unlimited Speed
The Treadmill is the only unlimited, free source of Speed in the game, and it always spawns directly in front of your base. Standing on it generates Speed continuously, and every upgrade raises how much you gain per second. A weak Treadmill is the single most common reason training feels endless.

Note: You cannot steal eggs at night. That downtime is the ideal window to sit on the Treadmill instead of standing around waiting for the map to reopen.
Buy Trails for a Speed multiplier
Trails are not just a visual effect trailing behind your character. Each one applies a multiplier to your Speed, which means a better Trail makes every second of Treadmill training worth more. The Trail Shop sits on the right side of the safe zone, and there are ten Trails in total spanning Common to Divine rarity.
| Trail | Speed multiplier |
|---|---|
| Secret | x7 |
| Eternal | x10 |
| Divine | x14 |
Divine is the strongest Speed multiplier currently available, and it costs 300 Trillion Cash. Do not buy every tier on the way up. Skipping the mid-range options and saving for a genuine step up is far more efficient than spending cash on marginal upgrades you will replace in an hour.
Speed Shop packs and Admin Abuse events
The Shop sells Speed packs for Robux, and they are the fastest route to a late-game biome. Bundles run from +150K Speed up to +1B Speed, which is enough to clear the Cosmic requirement outright. This is optional, not required, and the Treadmill-plus-Trail route reaches the same places with more patience.
Admin Abuse events are the other shortcut. When developers run one, players get a large temporary Speed bonus, which is usually enough to sprint out to Cosmic, grab a Cosmic Egg, and get back to the safe zone within seconds. These are short windows, so line up your target egg before the boost lands.
There are also occasional free offers inside the game that hand out Speed for liking the experience and joining the community group. The reward is smaller than a Robux pack but costs nothing, so claim it if the prompt appears.
Why guardians still catch you at the listed Speed
Hitting a biome’s minimum gets you in. It does not guarantee you get out. Large eggs weigh you down the moment you pick them up, and that slowdown can wipe out a thin Speed margin entirely. For big eggs, train roughly 15 to 20 percent above the listed requirement before you commit. A 17 million Prehistoric run realistically wants 20 million or more.
Where the guardian catches you tells you exactly what to fix.
| What happens on the escape | What to do next |
|---|---|
| Clean run back to the safe zone | Speed is sufficient. Farm this egg repeatedly. |
| Caught just short of your base | You are close. One Treadmill upgrade or a better Trail should close the gap. |
| Caught around the halfway point | Speed is far too low. Go back and train before retrying. |
| Sharp slowdown the instant you grab the egg | The egg is too heavy for your current Speed. Take a smaller one or overtrain first. |
You know it worked when you cross into the safe zone still holding the egg and can place it in your pen to start the hatch timer. If a guardian tags you first, the egg drops on the spot and any nearby player can pick it up, so a failed run costs you the egg as well as the time.
The loop that raises Speed fastest is straightforward. Keep enough pets earning in your pen to fund upgrades, put that cash into the Treadmill first and a stronger Trail second, and only push into a new biome once your Speed sits comfortably above the listed number rather than level with it.
