Steal An Egg: The Great Bloom Event Guide

Farm Sakura Crystals every 30 minutes and charge the Sakura Incubator for exclusive egg mutations.

Farm Sakura Crystals every 30 minutes and charge the Sakura Incubator for exclusive egg mutations.

The Great Bloom is the first major event in Steal An Egg. It takes over the Cherry Blossom zone on a short loop and pays out Sakura Crystals, which are the only resource the Sakura Incubator accepts when it applies exclusive mutations to eggs.

Quick answer: Be in Cherry Blossom when The Great Bloom starts, hit the special Sakura trees with your baseball bat for Sakura Crystals, then charge an egg in the unlocked Sakura Incubator to at least 100 percent for a Bloom or Spirit Bloom roll.

Great Bloom spawn time in Cherry Blossom

Cherry Blossom is the last zone on the map and the only place The Great Bloom appears. The event returns every 30 minutes on server time. A message shows up on screen when it begins, so you do not have to guess whether the window is open.

The live window is short. The Great Bloom lasts about three minutes, then the special trees disappear until the next cycle. If you are still crossing the map when the message pops, you will lose most of the harvest. Sit in Cherry Blossom before the timer hits zero.

After the Sakura Incubator is unlocked, a timer sits on top of the machine and shows the next Great Bloom spawn. Use that clock instead of counting from memory if you are already set up in the zone.

Unlock the Sakura Incubator with a Crane

The Sakura Incubator sits at the back of Cherry Blossom. It stays sealed until you offer it a Crane. That pet is an Epic unit from Cherry Blossom eggs and it generates $4K per second, so you need enough speed to steal eggs in that last zone before you can open the machine.

Steal eggs in Cherry Blossom and hatch them until a Crane drops. Keep that pet in your inventory. You cannot finish the unlock from another zone.
Travel to the back of Cherry Blossom and find the Sakura Incubator. The machine is inside the zone, not at your base. Interact with it while the Crane is on you.
Submit the Crane to activate the incubator. Once that offer goes through, the machine stays available and will accept eggs from your inventory. You can then start turning Sakura Crystals into mutations.

If the incubator still refuses eggs, the Crane was not submitted. Walk back to the machine at the rear of Cherry Blossom and complete the offer. The trees in The Great Bloom also stay unbreakable until this unlock is done.

Farm Sakura Crystals during Great Bloom

Sakura Crystals only come from the special Sakura trees that spawn around Cherry Blossom while The Great Bloom is active. Those trees are not part of the normal zone layout. When the event starts, equip the baseball bat you have had since the start of the game and hit the trees.

The bat is the whole interaction. There is no second tool and no separate crystal node. Each hit on a live Sakura tree is what produces the crystals you later dump into the incubator.

The trees will not break if the Sakura Incubator is still locked. Showing up for the three-minute window without a submitted Crane wastes the cycle. Unlock the machine first, then treat every later spawn as a crystal farm.

Because the event is so brief, the useful habit is positional. Stand in Cherry Blossom before the 30-minute mark, watch for the on-screen message or the incubator timer, then spend the whole window on trees. The same loop comes back half an hour later if you need another stack of crystals.

Charge the Sakura Incubator for Bloom mutations

The incubator applies two mutations that exist only on this machine, Bloom and Spirit Bloom. You place an egg, spend Sakura Crystals to charge it, and the roll happens after the charge crosses the mutation line.

Put an egg from your inventory into the Sakura Incubator. The machine has to be unlocked first. An empty incubator cannot start a charge.
Deposit Sakura Crystals until the charge reaches at least 100 percent. That is the minimum for a mutation. You can keep feeding crystals up to 150 percent, but the mutation does not unlock below 100 percent.
Let the incubator process the egg after it is charged. The machine then rolls one of the two exclusive mutations. Bloom is the common result. Spirit Bloom is the rare one.
Charge or rollResult
Below 100%No mutation
100%Mutation unlocks
Up to 150%Extra charge allowed
Bloom97.5% chance
Spirit Bloom2.5% chance

You know the unlock worked when the incubator accepts an egg and shows a charge value. You know the mutation worked when the processed egg comes back with Bloom or Spirit Bloom. If charge sits under 100 percent, the egg will not mutate and you need more Sakura Crystals from the next Great Bloom.

The loop stays the same after the first Crane. Wait in Cherry Blossom, hit Sakura trees for three minutes, then push the next egg to 100 percent charge and take the Bloom or Spirit Bloom roll.
