Surf and Rescue is a Roblox experience built around a single, repeatable cycle. You ride a surfboard into the ocean, recover stranded sea creatures from the islands, bring them back to the beach, clean them up, and put them on display so visiting tourists pay you money every second. Everything you buy and upgrade feeds back into doing that loop faster.
Quick answer: Equip a surfboard and surf to an island, dig up a buried sea creature, carry it back to shore, wash it at the cleaning station until it hits 100% clean, then place it in an exhibit tank to earn money per second.
How the Surf and Rescue loop works
The whole game runs on one rescue cycle that you repeat with better gear each time. Once you understand these five stages, everything else is just an upgrade to one of them.
- Surf out from the beach across water zones such as Shallow Waters to reach an island.
- Dig up the buried sea creatures hidden in the sand mounds.
- Carry the rescued animal back to shore on your board.
- Wash it at the cleaning station to reveal its species and earning rate.
- Drop it into an exhibit tank so it generates passive income.

Start by equipping a surfboard, then paddle out past the shallows toward the islands where animals spawn. As you travel, grab the floating yellow surfboard icons in the water. Each one adds +1 speed, and a higher speed stat is what lets you cross into farther zones and escape danger.
The ocean is not empty. Sharks and manta rays patrol the water and show a red exclamation mark when they are near, with a clear “SHARK!” warning on screen. Speed is your defense here, since a fast enough board lets you slip past them before they catch you.
Dig up and carry sea creatures
Animals are buried beneath mounds of sand on every island. Equip a shovel, stand over a mound, and dig to uncover one. You start with the Stone Shovel. While digging, the tool controls along the bottom of the screen let you turn the “Auto-Clicker” on or off. Press “E Grab” to pick up a creature by hand.
Digging is faster with help. Inviting friends into the game gives extra strength and lets you dig a mound together, which triggers a “DIG BOOST!” reward and clears creatures sooner.

Your carrying capacity is limited. When you are holding too much, the game shows “Your hands are full” and offers a backpack upgrade for 20 Robux. Until you buy it, plan to run one rescue back to shore at a time.
Clean animals at the cleaning station
Every rescued creature comes back covered in dirt and has to be washed before it earns anything. Head to the cleaning station on the beach and use the water hose to spray it down. A progress bar climbs as you clean, starting low and rising toward the goal.
You know it worked when the bar reaches 100% Clean. At that point the game reveals the creature’s type, rarity, weight, and earning rate, such as a Small Crab that is Common, weighs around 1.2 kg, and pays $1.3/s.
Place animals in exhibit tanks for passive income
Cleaned animals go into the wooden exhibit tanks along the deck, such as the “Common” tank. Walk up to a tank and use the “E Place” prompt to drop your creature in. Each tank pays out the combined rate of everything inside it, so a Small Crab at $1.3/s plus a Small Turtle at $0.7/s produces a tank rate of 2.0/s.
Hold “E” on a tank to open the “Edit Tank” menu, where you can filter your creatures and arrange which ones are on display. Tanks also hold a limited number of animals until you upgrade them.

Tank upgrades cost $500 or 25 Robux for the first tier, with higher tiers running $2.5K or 49 Robux. Each upgrade raises how many animals a tank can display, which directly raises its income. Once creatures are placed and tourists start visiting, your money per second ticks up on its own.
Speed up your earnings
Once the basic loop is running, everything else is about doing it faster. That means more speed to reach richer islands, stronger shovels to dig high-tier creatures, and steady currency from the pet index.
Training pool
The training pool on the beach lets you build your speed stat passively while you paddle in it. You can buy a temporary boost of +2x Speed for 3 Robux, and you can upgrade the pool’s capacity for $10K or 99 Robux to train more speed at once.
Pet index
The pet index tracks the creatures you have discovered, sorted by biome such as Shallow Waters and Coral Reef. Claiming a new entry rewards bonus currency and speed. Registering a Crab, for example, pays out +3,000 Kuna and +100 Speed, so it is worth claiming every entry as you unlock it.
Shovel shop
Stronger shovels dig faster and let you break tougher, higher-value blocks on distant islands. Visit the shovel shop on the beach and equip the best one you can afford.
| Shovel | Strength | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Stone Shovel | Starter | Default |
| Copper Shovel | 2 | $1,000 / 20 Robux |
| Iron Shovel | 3 | Shop upgrade |
| Diamond Shovel | 5 | Robux |

The Diamond Shovel is the top strength tier shown here at Strength 5, bought with Robux, and it lets you dig the toughest creature blocks quickly.

Boards
Better boards raise your travel speed, which stacks with the speed stat you collect and train. You can buy them directly or win them from crates.
| Board | Speed | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Flame Board | 1.1x | $10K / 100 Robux |
| Moon Board | 1.5x | Shop / crate |
Mermaid Crates
Mermaid Crates are bought with Kuna and drop boards across five rarity tiers. The rarer the roll, the lower its chance, so the odds drop steeply toward the top.
| Rarity | Chance |
|---|---|
| Uncommon | 50% |
| Rare | 30% |
| Epic | 15% |
| Legendary | 4% |
| Rainbow | 1% |
With a fast board, a strong shovel, and a row of upgraded tanks stocked with cleaned creatures, the rescue loop pays for itself. Keep pushing your speed to reach the farther islands, since those hold the bigger, higher-value animals that raise your money per second the fastest.
