Terraria 1.4.5.7, released August 19, 2026, adds two secret world seeds that only change lightning during storms. Terrain, biomes, and structures stay the same. Rain still falls. The seeds either stop bolts, multiply them, or, if you turn both on, turn those bolts green and heal you.

Both seeds sit in the same category. They change lightning frequency during storms and do not rewrite the map. Calm Before the Storm is the quiet option. Electric Boogaloo is the hard option.

Calm Before the Storm matches the in-game line Zeus is appeased. Lightning never triggers, which is useful if random strikes get in the way of building or exploring. Nothing else about the world changes.
Electric Boogaloo matches Zeus is displeased. Storms keep their rain, but bolts hit far more often. That is the seed to pick when you want storms to be a real threat.
Healing Lightning With Both Seeds
Turn Calm Before the Storm and Electric Boogaloo on together and the obvious cancel does not happen. Lightning still strikes. The bolts are green, and each hit heals you instead of punishing you.
Storms then become a passive heal window. Rain still has to be happening, because these seeds do not create weather on their own. They only change what lightning does after a storm is already running.
Electric Boogaloo With Bring a Towel
Lightning only fires while a storm is active. Electric Boogaloo can sit idle for long stretches in a normal world because storms are not constant.
Pair it with Bring a Towel, the older secret seed entered as bring a towel, and the world stays in a constant storm. Extra lightning then has weather to work with the whole time. Use that pairing for a nonstop challenge, or add Calm Before the Storm as well if you want the green healing bolts to keep coming.
Confirm the Secret Seed Is Active
At world creation, success is the notification sound plus a sparkling seed icon. If neither happens, the text did not match a secret seed. Try again without worrying about spaces or caps.
In the world itself, wait for a storm. Calm Before the Storm is working when rain falls and no lightning appears. Electric Boogaloo is working when bolts arrive much more often than usual. Both seeds are working when those bolts are green and restore health on contact.
The lightning rule is set when the world is generated. To try a different mix, create a new world and toggle the seeds again before you start.
