The Blood of Dawnwalker: Destroyed Shrines Pilgrim’s Bridge Walkthrough

Most broken shrines in The Blood of Dawnwalker are quick jobs. You inspect the rubble, switch on Focus Mode, follow the footprints to a soldier camp or a hungry animal, and take the idol back. The wreck near Pilgrim’s Bridge does not work that way. Instead of a trail, it leaves you a letter, and that letter sends Coen across Vale Sangora to a house in Svartrau City before you ever touch an idol.

Quick answer: Inspect the destroyed shrine at Pilgrim’s Bridge and loot the letter inside to start the quest, then travel to Breslauer’s house in the southern part of Svartrau City, climb to the upper balcony, search the attic for the map of hidden shrines, and collect the idol stash it points to.

Why this shrine has no footprint trail

Brencis ordered the shrines torn down, and his soldiers have been pulling the idols — the hearts that make a shrine work — out of the stonework. There are 111 shrines in the valley in total, 94 intact and 17 destroyed, and every restored one gives you a fast travel point plus access to skills, storage, and time skipping.

Pilgrim’s Bridge belongs to a small group of shrines whose idols were never scattered. They were hidden together on purpose, and the stash serves three wrecks at once. That is why chasing yellow markings around the bridge gets you nowhere.

Note: restoring a shrine almost always burns one time segment. If you are juggling a timed quest, park this one until the clock suits you.

Starting the quest at the Pilgrim’s Bridge shrine

Open the map and zoom into the Svartrau Outskirts region. The destroyed shrine icon sits by Pilgrim’s Bridge — set it as your tracked objective so the marker stays on your HUD while you ride over.

Walk up to the shrine and inspect it. The idol niche is empty, and the quest will not appear until Coen has actually examined the damage up close.

Loot the letter left inside the shrine. Taking it is what starts the quest and writes the trail into your journal — reading the shrine alone is not enough.

Open the journal and read the new entry. The objective updates to finding Breslauer’s house, and the entry text is your only pointer to which part of the city you need.

Finding Breslauer’s house in Svartrau City

The house sits in the Nuestadt area, in the southern stretch of Svartrau City. Fast travelling to the Svartrau South shrine puts you closest, though any of the western or southern city shrines works as a starting point.

Track the objective and follow the marker through the district on foot. The distance readout on the HUD is the reliable guide here, since the building looks like every other townhouse on the street.

Get up onto the roofs. The ground floor is not your way in — you need the upper balcony, so use your Vrakhiri movement abilities to climb and cross the rooftops until the marker sits directly above the street.

Squeeze through the gap at the top and drop into the attic. The quest name updates to Destroyed Shrines: Pilgrim’s Bridge as you enter, which confirms you have the right building.

Search the attic and open the chest inside. Along with the odds and ends stored there — old scissors, grapes, a few denarii — you pick up the notes and the map that mark where the shrine idols were hidden.

Recovering the idols from the hidden stash

The map from the attic points to a cave tucked behind a waterfall. The entrance is easy to walk past, since the falling water hides the opening from the approach — hug the rock face and push through rather than looking for a marked cave mouth.

Inside, the stash holds the idols the letter was written about. Hold L2 or LT for Focus Mode if the container blends into the cave interior; the highlighted outline will pick it out. Once the idols are in your inventory, return to Pilgrim’s Bridge and place one on the shrine to bring it back into service.

How to tell it worked, and why it sometimes doesn’t

A restored shrine flips from grey to blue on the map and becomes usable straight away. You can fast travel out of it to any other shrine you have already visited, buy skills, reach your storage, and skip forward to a different part of the day. If the icon is still grey, the idol has not been placed.

Two things trip people up on this one. Inspecting the shrine without taking the letter leaves the quest unstarted, so there is no journal entry to follow. And searching the ground floor of the house wastes time — the attic route from the balcony is the entry point, and the notes that lead to the stash are only up there.

Because the same stash covers Vedera Marsh and Burner’s Clearing, it is worth clearing all three shrines in one loop while the idols are in hand. Doing it early pays off in saved travel later, and the ordinary Focus Mode method still applies to every other destroyed shrine in the valley.
