The Font of Life is a Witchcraft perk in The Blood of Dawnwalker that gives Coen passive health regeneration while he fights as a human during the day. It sits at the end of Anca’s ruins questline, and a single decision at the finish decides whether you keep it forever or lose it for the rest of the playthrough.
Quick answer: Finish the quests Where Old Devils Lie and Stronger Than Achilles, reach the Font in the final chamber, and choose the option where Coen drinks from it. That single choice unlocks the Font of Life perk.

What the Font of Life perk does
Coen loses his vampire tools in daylight. No claws, no teleport, no instant blood drain. The Font of Life closes part of that gap by regenerating his human health passively during the day.
In practice this lets you stay alive through longer daytime fights and carry fewer healing consumables, since your health ticks back on its own. It lives in the Witchcraft skill tree once unlocked.

The Font of Life is locked behind Anca’s personal arc. It becomes available after you wrap up the convent questline with her at St. Tyna’s, where she reads the forbidden books and turns up references to a Font of Life. You and Anca piece the clues together to work out where the sacred ruins are.
From there it plays out as a two-part sequence that leads straight into the perk decision.

The choice that unlocks the perk
There is only enough in the Font for one person to drink. At the end of Stronger Than Achilles the game gives you three options, and only one grants the perk. Pick wrong and you are locked out of the Font of Life for the rest of that save.
| Choice | Result |
|---|---|
| Coen drinks (take the Font) | Unlocks the Font of Life perk and passive daytime health regeneration |
| Give the Font to Anca | No perk; Anca loses her sins and her witch abilities, no longer a witch |
| Destroy the Font | No perk; you receive the Ancient Greaves instead |
To get the perk, choose the option where Coen keeps the Font and drinks. If Anca drinks, she erases her past and stays a witch no longer, but the perk is gone for good. Destroying the Font hands you the Ancient Greaves, which suits a full early legendary set but leaves no regeneration ability.
Note: completing Stronger Than Achilles already rewards a legendary light chestpiece, Runic Enchantment, regardless of which option you take. Anca accepts whatever you decide, so there is no story penalty attached to keeping the Font for yourself.

How to confirm you unlocked it
Once Coen drinks, the Font of Life appears as a perk in the Witchcraft skill tree, and Coen begins regaining human health on his own during daytime combat. If it is not there, the most likely reason is the choice at the Font. Giving it to Anca or destroying it both close off the unlock permanently on that save.
If your priority is the perk, keep the Font for Coen and treat the daytime regeneration as your reward for clearing the ruins. If you would rather chase early legendary gear or resolve Anca’s story a different way, weigh those trade-offs before you make the final call, because you only get one.
