The Blood of Dawnwalker: Shrine Heart Location in Maragir Wealds

Where the stolen idol sits, how to pull it out of the soldier camp, and what restoring the shrine costs you.

The destroyed shrine in the Maragir Wealds is one of 17 broken fast travel points scattered across Vale Sangora, and it stays dead until you bring back the idol that was taken from it. Brencis ordered the shrines wrecked, so his soldiers have been pulling the hearts out and hauling them back to camp. The Maragir Wealds Shrine’s Heart never left the area — it is sitting in a chest a short run from the shrine itself.

Quick answer: The Maragir Wealds Shrine’s Heart is in a yellow chest inside the tent at the back of the soldier camp west of the Lower Maragir Wealds shrine, north of the destroyed shrine. Kill the soldiers, loot the chest, and carry the heart back to the shrine to repair it.

Start the quest at the destroyed shrine southeast of Maragir

The broken shrine sits southeast of Maragir, in the lower half of the Wealds. Walking up to it is not enough. You have to inspect it, which starts the quest Destroyed Shrines: Maragir Wealds and marks the trail on your map.

Once the quest is live, hold L2/LT to enter Focus Mode. The thief’s footprints light up in yellow and run north out of the shrine clearing, straight toward the soldier camp. If you would rather skip the tracking entirely, open the map and head for the camp directly — the heart is in the same place either way.

How to get the Maragir Wealds Shrine’s Heart

Follow the path north and west until you reach the soldier camp on the western side of the Lower Maragir Wealds. It is a small encampment with tents and a campfire, and the soldiers are hostile on sight.
Clear out every soldier in the camp. Nobody here carries the idol on their body, so there is no need to search corpses — the fight is only to give you room to loot in peace.

Walk to the tent at the back of the camp and step inside. The chest holding the idol is in there, and it highlights in yellow when you get close.

Open the chest and take the Maragir Wealds Shrine’s Heart. The quest objective updates the moment it lands in your inventory.
Run back down the path to the destroyed shrine and interact with it to place the idol. Repairing it advances the clock by one time segment, so do not do it right before a timed deadline.

How to confirm the shrine is repaired

Two things change immediately. The quest Destroyed Shrines: Maragir Wealds closes out, and the shrine icon on your map flips from gray to blue, the same as any regular shrine you have walked past.

Interact with it again and the full menu should be there — fast travel to other shrines you have visited, your perks, your storage, and the option to wait and pass time. If any of that is missing, the idol has not been placed yet.

Common reasons the trail does not appear

ProblemWhat to do
No footprints in Focus ModeInspect the destroyed shrine first. The tracks only render once the quest is active.
Trail ends with nothing to lootHead into the tent at the rear of the camp. The idol is in a chest here, not on a body.
Shrine still shows as damagedYou are holding the heart but have not interacted with the shrine to place it.
Camp is empty of enemiesThe chest still spawns. Loot it and go.

Other shrines in the Maragir Wealds

The region has a healthy spread of intact shrines, so once this one is back online you have a dense fast travel network across the Wealds. None of them require repair.

Note: shrines are not tied to any trophy or achievement, so this is purely a convenience run. It is still worth doing early, since walking the Wealds on foot gets slow fast even with Shapeshift or Mercurial Fervor active.

The pattern here repeats across most of the broken shrines in the game. Inspect the wreckage, follow the yellow tracks in Focus Mode, and the idol turns up at a nearby camp — either in a chest like this one, or on the body of whoever took it. Budget a time segment for each repair and knock them out while you are already passing through.
