The eight gear sets, their 2, 3, and 4-piece bonuses, and how to mix them across a single build.

Gear sets are the backbone of any serious build in The Division Resurgence. Each one hands you escalating bonuses as you wear more matching pieces, and you can either commit fully to a single set or split your slots across several to chase specific stats. There are eight sets in rotation, covering weapon damage, skill power, and raw survivability.

Quick answer: Wear 4 pieces from one set to unlock its full 2-piece, 3-piece, and 4-piece bonus stack, or mix sets, for example three 2-piece bonuses or two 3-piece bonuses, to blend stats from different sets in one loadout.

How gear set bonuses stack

Every set carries three tiers of bonus. You get the 2-piece bonus once two matching items are equipped, the 3-piece adds on top once you hit three, and the 4-piece caps it off with the strongest effect. The bonuses are cumulative, so a full four-piece set gives you all three tiers at once.

Mixing is where builds get flexible. Because bonuses trigger at each threshold, you can run two pieces of one set and two of another to hold two separate 2-piece bonuses, or split into a 3+3 or 2+2+2 arrangement. That lets you pull the strongest low-tier perks from multiple sets instead of committing to a single 4-piece payoff.

Which sets fit which role

The eight sets split cleanly across the three main playstyles. Grouping them this way makes it easier to pick a 4-piece core and then decide what to fill the rest of your slots with.

Weapon damage

Fury Strike, Phalanx Attack, and Quick Draw are the weapon-focused sets. Fury Strike leans hard into critical hits, ending with a 29% Weapon Critical Hit Damage boost at four pieces. Quick Draw is built around precision and pays off with 80% Headshot Damage, while Phalanx Attack rewards sustained fire through rate of fire and an 11% Multi-shot Chance.

Skill power

Boom-Shakalaka, Jackpot, Long-Term Effect, and Captain Cow drive skill builds. Jackpot mirrors a weapon crit build but for skills, topping out at 26% Skill Critical Hit Damage. Boom-Shakalaka and Long-Term Effect both reach 15% Skill Intensity, while Captain Cow shifts toward support with 14.7% Healing Output for a healer setup.

Survivability

Fearless Warrior is the defensive anchor, stacking 4% Damage Reduction and 7% Total Health before a 15% Damage Bonus at four pieces, so it holds you alive without giving up offense entirely.

How to farm gear sets

There is no way to target-farm a specific set bonus right now, so acquiring the pieces you want comes down to running the hardest content and rolling the odds. The most efficient routes are the toughest activities in the game.

ActivityGear tier
Heroic missionsT1 gear pieces
Legendary missionsT2 gear pieces

Because drops are not set-specific, expect to run these repeatedly and sort through the pieces you collect. Higher-tier pieces from Legendary runs give you the strongest stat ceilings to build around once the right set finally lands.

Don’t overlook individual talents

Set bonuses are only one layer of a build. Chest pieces and backpacks also roll their own talents, and those work independently of any set bonus. Treat them as a separate perk to check on every drop, since a strong talent can shape a build just as much as the set it belongs to.

The current lineup of eight sets is likely to grow over time, following the seasonal cadence the series is known for, so expect the pool of bonuses to expand as new content rolls out.
