Feasts are large, shareable meals in Valheim that grant long-lasting boosts to health and stamina, with the late-game dishes also adding Eitr. Unlike normal food, you cannot eat a Feast straight from your inventory. Each one has to be cooked at a Food Preparation Table and then placed on the ground or a table using a Serving Tray before anyone can take a bite.
Quick answer: Craft a Food Preparation Table, buy a Serving Tray and spices from the Bog Witch, cook a Feast at the table, then equip the Serving Tray and place the Feast down to eat from it.

What you need before cooking a Feast
Two pieces of gear are mandatory. Both require reaching the Swamp biome, since that is where Iron and the Bog Witch are found.
- Food Preparation Table — crafted with 5 Iron, 20 Finewood, 15 Leather Scraps, and a nearby Workbench. It must be placed under a roof.
- Serving Tray — bought from the Bog Witch for 140 Coins. It is the only way to put a Feast down so it can be eaten.
Once the Food Preparation Table is placed, you learn every Feast recipe at once. Individual recipes only become craftable after you have gathered all of their ingredients, including the required spice.

The Bog Witch is an NPC trader who sits inside a hut ringed by protective totems that keep hostile creatures out. You can walk into the hut freely, but you need Coins to buy anything. Her location is randomized, so you have to search the Swamp biomes in your world to find her.
A large cauldron icon appears on your map once you get close to her hut, marking the way in. Beyond the Serving Tray, she sells the herb blends that every Feast needs. Each blend she sells stays locked until you defeat the boss tied to its biome, and buying a blend gives you five of them at a time.
| Spice | Unlocks after defeating |
|---|---|
| Woodland Herb Blend | The Elder |
| Seafarer’s Herbs | A Serpent |
| Mountain Peak Pepper Powder | Moder |
| Grasslands Herbalist Harvest | Yagluth |
| Herbs of the Hidden Hills | The Queen |
| Fiery Spice Powder | Fader |
| Seasoning of the Gourd | Kall Fimbulbringer |

Cook the Feast

Place and eat the Feast
Before anyone eats, you can remove a placed Feast with the Serving Tray and it returns to your inventory. Once even a single bite is taken, removing or destroying it deletes it and returns nothing.

Every Feast recipe and its buffs
Every Feast lasts 50 minutes and gives equal amounts of health and stamina. Feasts made from Mistlands, Ashlands, and Deep North ingredients also add Eitr.
| Feast | Ingredients | HP / Stamina | Eitr |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whole Roasted Meadow Boar | 2 Cooked Deer Meat, 5 Cooked Boar Meat, 4 Dandelion, 1 Woodland Herb Blend | 35 / 35 | — |
| Black Forest Buffet Platter | 3 Deer Stew, 5 Thistle, 4 Queen’s Jam, 1 Woodland Herb Blend | 35 / 35 | — |
| Swamp Dweller’s Delight | 8 Sausages, 4 Bloodbag, 2 Turnip Stew, 1 Woodland Herb Blend | 35 / 35 | — |
| Sailor’s Bounty | 5 Cooked Fish, 4 Thistle, 2 Cooked Serpent Meat, 1 Seafarer’s Herbs | 45 / 45 | — |
| Hearty Mountain Logger’s Stew | 2 Wolf Skewer, 3 Onion Soup, 4 Carrot, 1 Mountain Peak Pepper Powder | 45 / 45 | — |
| Plains Pie Picnic | 3 Bread, 2 Lox Meat Pie, 5 Cloudberries, 1 Grasslands Herbalist Harvest | 55 / 55 | — |
| Mushrooms Galore á la Mistlands | 1 Misthare Supreme, 3 Cooked Seeker Meat, 1 Yggdrasil Porridge, 1 Herbs of the Hidden Hills | 65 / 65 | 33 |
| Ashlands Gourmet Bowl | 3 Cooked Asksvin Tail, 5 Vineberry Cluster, 2 Scorching Medley, 1 Fiery Spice Powder | 75 / 75 | 38 |
| Northern Morning Fare | 3 Cooked Moose Meat, 5 Poteitr, 2 Oat Flour, 1 Seasoning of the Gourd | 85 / 85 | 43 |
Healing scales with the tier as well, running from 2 hp per tick on the Meadow Boar up to 7 hp per tick on the Northern Morning Fare. A Feast is rarely the single best food for any biome, but its long duration and repeat servings make it strong for long trips. You can also stack different Feasts to keep three buffs active at once.

Confirm the buff is active
You know a Feast worked when the buff appears in your active food slots and your maximum health and stamina rise by the listed amounts for 50 minutes. The placed Feast also shows its remaining servings when you highlight it, and its model visibly shrinks as portions are eaten, changing appearance at six, three, and zero servings left. When it reaches zero, use the Serving Tray’s Remove option to clear the empty platter.
