WARDOGS: How to Build a Door Inside a FOB Perimeter

The Door needs a Large Hammer, Build Supplies, and a deployed Forward Operating Base before the blueprint will place.

Doors are one of the cheapest ways to turn a half-built position in WARDOGS into something the enemy team has to work for. They are a Fortifications-class buildable tied to the Support role, they sit inside a Forward Operating Base zone, and they only open for your side.

Quick answer: Equip a Large Hammer inside a FOB build zone with Build Supplies stocked, hold right click and press F to open BUILDABLES, pick DOOR, place the white blueprint, then hold left click until it finishes.

What the Door does in WARDOGS

The Door is a secure infantry access point that only your team can use. Enemies have to bypass it with a door unlock or destroy it outright, so a single door on a wall section is the difference between a controlled entrance and an open hole. It also pays out Support XP when you build it, which is the same track that eventually unlocks the better hammers.

A door only helps if it stays shut. Close it behind you after moving through, or you have effectively built an expensive doorway.

What you need before the Door blueprint will place

Three things have to be true at once. You need the right hammer in your hands, Build Supplies available, and a deployed Forward Operating Base whose radius covers the spot you are standing in.

ItemPriceUnlock
Large Hammer$2,400Support level 8, $75,000 fee
Forward Operating Base$7,500None
Build Supplies$10 eachNone
Small Armored Crate$500Pilot level 2, $10,000 fee

The Large Hammer weighs 3.18 kg and covers every buildable in the game at the fastest build speed. The Medium Hammer, at $800 and Support level 3, is limited to large and basic buildables, which is why the door workflow is built around the larger tool.

The FOB itself is 6.5 kg in your pack. Once deployed it provides the radius players can build inside, holds items and resources for the team, and is flatly required for larger structures. Build Supplies are the resource behind every buildable and weigh almost nothing at 0.02 kg per unit, so the limiting factor is how many you can haul or drop off, not weight.

Where to find a Large Hammer without Support level 8

You do not have to grind the Support track to put up a door. A Large Hammer regularly sits in team storage, and two places are worth checking first.

  • FOB INVENTORY — open the Forward Operating Base your squad deployed and pull the hammer out of its storage.
  • SUPPLY CRATE — a Small Armored Crate holds 24 slots and is a common drop point for hammers and supplies.

The Small Armored Crate resists bullets and explosions, but it is not indestructible. High-speed impacts will break it, with roughly an 80m free-fall as the ceiling before the contents are lost.

How to build the Door

Equip the Large Hammer from your inventory while standing inside the FOB build radius. The hammer’s own description confirms you have the right tool, since it reads “Can Build ALL Buildables” with fast build speed.

Hold right click and press F to bring up the BUILDABLES radial menu. Every structure your hammer tier supports appears here, along with its supply cost.

Select DOOR from the wheel. The menu entry describes it as a secure entrance or access point usable only by your team unless it is bypassed or destroyed.
Line up the white blueprint in the gap you want to seal. White means the placement is valid; a red preview means something is blocking it or you have drifted outside the FOB radius. Adjust your angle or step back inside the build zone until it turns white again.
Hold left click and hammer the blueprint until construction completes. Yellow X markers appear on the frame while you work, and hitting those spots adds more progress than swinging at random parts of the structure.

How to confirm the Door is finished

The blueprint frame is replaced by the solid door model, and walking up to it puts an [E] OPEN Door prompt on screen. If you get that prompt, the build registered and the door is live for your team. Support XP is credited for the construction under the REWARDS & SUPPORT XP breakdown.

Teammates get the same interaction prompt. Enemies do not, unless they bring a door unlock or blow the door apart.

How to clear a doorway with Dismantle (V)

Sometimes the spot you want is already occupied by something a teammate threw down earlier. Aiming at a friendly structure while holding the hammer brings up a Dismantle prompt bound to V.

Line the crosshair up on the exact piece you want gone. Sandbag barricades and similar field fortifications are the usual culprits blocking a clean doorway inside a Control Zone.

Run the dismantle action and the structure comes apart, leaving you a clean gap to place the door blueprint into. Check with your squad before removing anything load-bearing on the perimeter.

One door on its own does not hold a position, but it is the cheapest piece of a workable entrance. Pair it with walls that funnel traffic through a single choke point, keep Build Supplies in the FOB for repairs, and the Support player with the Large Hammer becomes the reason your base is still standing at the end of the fight.
