Hidden Mountain is the headline region in Where Winds Meet Version 2.0, the Unseen Approach update that went live on July 23, 2026 (UTC+8) across all platforms. The valley sits north of Qinghe, sealed beneath heavy mist, with water routes running below and suspended walkways above where iron-and-wood machines share space with maple groves and flower fields. Reaching it is gated behind both a level requirement and a specific story chapter.

Quick answer: Update to Version 2.0, reach Lv. 32, then complete Hidden Mountain Main Chapter 2: Haven Astray to fully open the Hidden Mountain region and its new systems.

Requirements to unlock Hidden Mountain

Two conditions must be met before the region fully opens. You need to be at least Lv. 32, and you must finish the story chapter Haven Astray. Until both are cleared, the new oddities and Meow Meow’s Treasure activities stay locked.

Steps to open the region

Apply the Version 2.0 update, then level up to Lv. 32 if you are below the cap. The new level ceiling has been raised to Lv. 100, so there is plenty of headroom, but 32 is the exact gate for Hidden Mountain access.
Progress the main story until you reach the Hidden Mountain prelude, Bringer of Embers. It contains two chapters, Parting Tale and Haven Astray. Meet with Yingying to trace the Water Lady’s whereabouts in Parting Tale, then cross paths with Feng Jisheng in Haven Astray.
Finish Haven Astray. Completing this chapter unseals the misted valley and unlocks the region’s collectible systems. You will know it worked when the map opens fully and rewards from the prelude land, including the inscription Cat Head, the Sparrow-Bot Hat, Lingering Melody, and Echo Jade.

Note: If you can move through Hidden Mountain but cannot access its oddities or Meow Meow’s Treasure, the block is almost always the level gate or an unfinished Haven Astray. Clear both to remove it.

What exploring Hidden Mountain rewards

The region emphasizes verticality, so movement runs up and down between the suspended walkways and the lower water routes. Ancient ruins scattered through the fog mark the Mohists’ unfinished work from a thousand years ago. Exploring the area grants the Dyed Azure set, the Armillary Stud earrings, the Artless Skill nameplate, the Truth Seeker badge, the mode-exclusive Soaring Token, plus Lingering Melody and Echo Jade.

Two smaller collection systems arrive with the map. Hidden Mountain Oddities adds four catchable creatures built from wood, jade, metal, and pottery. Meow Meow’s Treasure adds three modes to work through.

Mohist Hill sect and the Gauntlets weapon

Mohist Hill is the new sect, a surviving branch of the Mohist Sect hidden beyond a suspended gate and waterfall north of Qinghe. Its disciples are engineers who work quietly with mechanisms under the principle of Universal Love. To join, reach Lv. 10 and complete Haven Astray. Membership brings crafting benefits, including greatly increased blueprint limits in Free Construction, server-wide Divinecraft abilities, and a weekly Construction Material Support Pack tied to your standing.

The Gauntlets are the new close-quarters weapon, powered by Mohist Hill’s machinery and built for direct, explosive combat. They arrive with the Martial Art Path Bamboocut: Kite. You obtain the Heavenwill Gauntlets Martial Art by joining Mohist Hill or buying it from the Universal Love Shop, which also opens to Wanderers outside the sect. Completing Haven Astray grants the paired Skygrasp Rope Dart Martial Art, which snares targets at range. If you want to test the path before spending materials, the New Armament Drill event lets you trial Bamboocut: Kite and its Inner Ways for free after reaching Lv. 3.

New world bosses in Hidden Mountain

Two world bosses debut with the region. Ci & Cuo are a pair of mechanical dancing puppets that attack in sync while swinging from suspension wires. The Ironheart Centipede is a large mechanical centipede that uses Mohist poison in its attacks. Both also feed Sword Forge Challenges in the Trial menu and have been added to Guild Breaking Army.

Hidden Mountain stories and Jianghu Legacy

Beyond the main prelude, the region carries the Campaign Changeless Heart, an underwater hall full of mechanical puppet enemies that guard the secrets of Mohist Hill. It can be replayed for a chance at the accessory Adrift in Azure. Two Jianghu Legacy volumes round out the area’s side stories, opened through the Wulin Journal for Hidden Mountain.

System changes that affect progression

Several caps rose with the update. The level cap is now Lv. 100 and Tier 96 gear can be obtained, with increases also applied to Tuning, Mystic Skills, Medicine, Decoctions, and Challenges. New Lv. 96 multiplayer campaigns, the Dragonscale Tamer Sword Trial and the Carnival Voyage Hero’s Trial, enter through Wandering Paths with a team or AI companions.

A wide balance pass also landed. Buff Food now splits into Vitality Food and Attack Food, which can be equipped together so you raise Max HP and Physical Attack at once, and Buff Food attributes now add to your Base Attributes before percentage buffs apply. Damage-over-time Qi output was standardized to a consistent baseline, with some effects gaining Qi damage and others reduced. Once you clear the level and story gates, Hidden Mountain and its Mohist Hill machinery are fully open, and the storyline is set to expand in later updates.
