Stormwind scatters its class trainers across seven districts, which is why plenty of new Alliance Paladins run circles around the Trade District looking for someone to teach them. The Paladins are not in a barracks or a training hall. They are tucked into a side room of the city’s cathedral, sharing the building with the Priest trainers.
Quick answer: The Stormwind Paladin trainers stand in the first room on the left inside the Cathedral of Light, in Cathedral Square. Look for Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker, Arthur the Faithful, and Katherine the Pure.
Stormwind Paladin trainers and coordinates
All three trainers share a single room, so once you are inside you cannot really miss them. The coordinates below are for the Cathedral Square area of the Stormwind map.
| Trainer | Position in the room | Coordinates |
|---|---|---|
| Arthur the Faithful | Immediate left on entry | 38.7, 32.8 |
| Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker | Straight ahead on entry | 37.2, 33.2 |
| Katherine the Pure | Right side, by the bookcase | 37.2, 31.9 |
Any of the three will do. They teach the same spellbook, so pick whichever one you walk into first.

If you get turned around inside the building, ask any Stormwind guard for directions. They will drop a marker on your map and a red arrow on your minimap pointing at the nearest class trainer.
How to confirm you have the right NPC
Hover over the NPC and check the nameplate. A genuine trainer displays the subtitle <Paladin Trainer> under the name, so “Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker <Paladin Trainer>” is the confirmation you are looking for. Other cathedral residents such as Brother Sarno and Thomas the Altar Boy have no trainer tag and cannot teach you anything.
Once you interact with a real trainer, the gossip window includes a training entry that opens a list of purchasable abilities and ranks with gold costs attached. If you only see chat text and no train option, you are speaking to the wrong NPC.
What the Stormwind Paladin trainers can teach
These three are full-service trainers, which is the main reason to make the trip. Unlike the starter-zone Paladin trainers, who stop teaching after level 6 abilities, the cathedral trainers cover every level. They also reset talent points.
In Classic-era versions, new abilities and higher ranks unlock at level 1, level 4, and every even-numbered level afterward, and each one costs gold based on the level it unlocks at. You do not have to buy everything, so prioritize if you are short on money. Reputation matters too: prices drop once you are Honored or better with the trainer’s faction, and all three cathedral trainers belong to the Stormwind faction.
Talent-granted abilities arrive at Rank 1 automatically. Later ranks still have to be bought from a trainer, so Blessing of Sanctuary from the Protection tree, for example, needs separate purchases at levels 40, 50, and 60.
Other Alliance Paladin trainers near Stormwind
If you are still in the low levels and the run to the city is not worth it, there are closer options in Elwynn Forest and Dun Morogh.
- Brother Sammuel in Northshire Abbey, in the Hall of Arms east wing (trains up to level 6 only)
- Brother Wilhelm in Goldshire, at the back of the forge across from the inn
- Beldruk Doombrow, Brandur Ironhammer, and Valgar Highforge in the Hall of Mysteries, Ironforge
- Brother Karman in Theramore, Dustwallow Marsh, standing outside the castle north of the flight point
Brother Karman is the one exception worth knowing about, because he will not reset your talents. For a respec, go back to Stormwind or Ironforge.
Stormwind class trainers by district
Stormwind is the only Alliance city where all nine Classic-era classes can train, which makes it a useful hub even for races that cannot be Human. Here is where each set of trainers sits.
| District | Classes trained |
|---|---|
| Cathedral Square | Paladin, Priest |
| The Park | Druid, Priest |
| The Mage Quarter | Mage, Warlock |
| Dwarven District | Hunter, Hunter pets |
| Old Town | Rogue, Warrior |
| Valley of Heroes | Shaman |
| Trade District | Weapon master |
Old Town: Warrior trainers in the Command Center
Old Town is the district most often confused with the cathedral run, since both sit in the northern half of the city. Enter Old Town from the Trade District and head toward the large stone archway and staircase at the back.

Pass through the gate into the Command Center courtyard, then take the doorway on the left side of the yard.

Inside, go up the wooden staircase. Wu Shen and Ilsa Corbin stand on the landing with the green rug, and Ander Germaine waits further back on a bearskin rug.

For Paladins, though, the cathedral is the only stop that matters. Set your hearthstone in Stormwind and the trip back for even-level training is a short run north from the inn.
