WoW Forever: How to Complete Unwelcome Visitors on Zephyrus Isle

Unwelcome Visitors is an early collection quest on Zephyrus Isle, and it is exactly as straightforward as it sounds: kill bats, take their talons, walk back. The only thing that slows people down is the drop rate, which is not guaranteed, so the eight talons you need will cost you more than eight kills.

Quick answer: Pick up Unwelcome Visitors from Isadora Bitterwind in Valanaar, head north into Shadowgale Forest, and kill Shadowgale Shrieklings until you have 8 Shrieking Talons. Return to Isadora to claim the reward.

Isadora stands inside the tower in Valanaar, and the quest area shows up as a blue highlighted zone on the world map once you accept. If you open the map and cannot see the marker, you have not taken the quest yet.

Where to find Shadowgale Shrieklings

Shadowgale Shrieklings are bat-type mobs, and they only spawn inside Shadowgale Forest, the dark, fog-heavy woodland directly north of Valanaar. You do not need a mount or a flight path to get there. Leave the tower, follow the path out of town, and keep running north until the lighting drops and the fog closes in.

They are spread across the forest rather than packed into a single camp, so expect to move between small clusters instead of standing in one spot. The yellow dots on your minimap are the fastest way to track the next group.

How to farm 8 Shrieking Talons

Talk to Isadora Bitterwind in Valanaar and accept Unwelcome Visitors. The objective tracker on the right side of your screen should now read Shrieking Talons: 0/8.

Exit the building and take the path north out of town into Shadowgale Forest. The transition is obvious, since the area is noticeably darker and fogged compared to the road leading in.

Pull Shadowgale Shrieklings one or two at a time and kill them. They are low-threat mobs, so most classes can chain pulls without stopping to drink or bandage between fights.

Loot every corpse. The talon is not a guaranteed drop, so plenty of shrieklings will die without giving you anything, and skipping bodies is the most common reason this quest drags on.

Keep moving between spawn clusters as you clear them. Each Shrieking Talon you pick up advances the counter by one, and you will see the progress update on screen as it goes from 1/8 through to 8/8.

Budget around five to seven minutes of steady clearing for the full set. The talons tend to come in bursts, with several kills in a row producing nothing.

Turning in the quest and confirming it completed

Once the tracker reads 8/8, head back south along the same path and re-enter the tower in Valanaar. Isadora Bitterwind will have a yellow question mark above her head, which confirms the quest is ready to hand in.

Speak to Isadora and complete the turn-in. The eight Shrieking Talons are removed from your bags and the reward window fires immediately.

You know it worked when the experience bar jumps by 1,500 XP, a High Order reputation gain appears in your chat log, and Unwelcome Visitors disappears from your quest log entirely. If the quest is still sitting in your log after the dialog closes, you closed the window before confirming the completion.

That reputation tick is the part worth paying attention to. Unwelcome Visitors is a low-effort entry point into High Order standing, which makes it a sensible one to knock out while you are already passing through Valanaar rather than saving it for later.
