The Day Count Multiplier decides how quickly your run in 100 Days at Sea ticks toward the finish. It starts at x1, which means one day added every night, and it only climbs when you clear specific objectives. Push it higher and the same real-world minutes cover far more in-game days, cutting the grind between you and Day 100.
Quick answer: Rescue all three Survivors (+3), place all four unique Container structures (+4), clear the Pirate Stronghold (+1), discover every Island (+1), defeat the Ancient Squid (+1), and beat your world’s Biome Boss (+1). That reaches x12 from the x1 starting point. Clearing the Corruption Dungeon adds +1 each time on top of that and is the only repeatable boost.
How the Day Count Multiplier works
Every new game opens at x1. At that rate the Day Count rises by one each night. Daytime runs for three minutes and nighttime lasts one minute and 30 seconds, and the day-night cycle only begins once your Bonfire hits 100%. As you complete objectives, the multiplier goes up, and most of those gains stay locked in for the rest of your current run.

There are seven separate sources of bonus. Six of them are one-time gains per run, and one can be repeated. Here is the full picture before the details.

| Source | Bonus | Repeatable |
|---|---|---|
| Rescue all three Survivors | +3 (+1 each) | No |
| Place four unique Container structures | +4 (+1 each) | No |
| Defeat the Pirate Stronghold | +1 | No |
| Discover every Island | +1 | No |
| Defeat the Ancient Squid | +1 | No |
| Defeat the Biome Boss | +1 | No |
| Complete the Corruption Dungeon | +1 per clear | Yes |
Rescue the three Survivors (+3)
This is the simplest boost to secure. Every run generates three Survivor Islands, each holding one person to save. Each rescue permanently adds +1, so all three together give you +3.
- Captain Stephen
- Doctor Madelaine
- Professor Erik
Place four Container structures (+4)
Container structures raise the multiplier the moment they are crafted and placed at your base. You find their blueprints by raiding the Oil Rigs. There are four unique Containers, and each adds +1 for a total of +4.
- Survival Shelter
- Container Shelter
- Makeshift Building
- Outpost

Duplicates do nothing. Placing a second copy of the same Container gives no extra bonus, so only the first of each type counts. Consider putting them on Fisherman’s Island rather than your home base. Enemy Raids frequently target Containers left at your base, and Fisherman’s Island keeps them out of harm’s way.
Clear the Pirate Stronghold (+1)
Collect all three Pirate Keys and the Pirate Stronghold unlocks. Clearing it adds a permanent +1, and it is one of the more straightforward objectives on the list once you have the keys in hand.
Discover every Island (+1)
Uncovering every Island rewards another +1. Sweep the map for every Point of Interest and confirm nothing is left unexplored before you move into the late game, or you will miss this bonus.
Defeat the Ancient Squid (+1)
Solve the Golden Tablet puzzle and beat the Ancient Squid to earn +1. There is a timing choice here. Some players hold off on the kill, leaving one of the Squid puzzle Islands active so they can keep farming Glue, which is needed to summon the Corruption Dungeon.

Defeat the Biome Boss (+1)
Each world spawns either a Fire Biome or an Ice Biome. Beating the matching boss gives +1. Which boss you face depends on the biome your run generated.
- Yeti (Ice Biome)
- Magma Boss (Fire Biome)

Farm the Corruption Dungeon (+1 per clear)
The Corruption Dungeon is the one source you can repeat. Every time you defeat The Corruptor, the multiplier climbs by +1, with no cap tied to a single completion. This is the only way to keep raising the number after every one-time objective is done.
Note: Summoning it requires Glue, which is why leaving a Squid puzzle Island active before killing the Ancient Squid can be worth it if you plan to run the dungeon repeatedly.
Maximum multiplier and how to confirm it
Setting the repeatable dungeon aside, the one-time objectives add up to +11 across a single run. Since every run opens at x1, that puts your ceiling at x12 before you factor in any Corruption clears.
| Objective | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Rescue all three Survivors | +3 |
| Place all four Container structures | +4 |
| Defeat the Pirate Stronghold | +1 |
| Discover every Island | +1 |
| Defeat the Ancient Squid | +1 |
| Defeat the Fire or Ice Biome Boss | +1 |
| Starting value | x1 |
| Total | x12 |
Each completed objective bumps the multiplier value shown on your Day Count in real time, so you can track progress after every rescue, placement, or boss kill. Clearing everything not only speeds up the run but also unlocks a number of Badges along the way.
