While pop-up windows are often disruptive, they can be necessary for certain websites to function correctly in Microsoft Edge. Controlling when and where pop-ups appear can enhance your browsing experience.

Enable or Disable the Pop-up Blocker

Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three-dot menu icon located in the upper-right corner of the browser window. From the dropdown menu, select Settings to access the browser’s settings page.
In the left sidebar of the Settings page, click on Cookies and site permissions to view permissions related to websites.
Scroll down to find the Pop-ups and redirects option, and click on it to adjust pop-up settings.
On the Pop-ups and redirects settings page, you will see a toggle button. If the button is turned on (showing a blue background), the pop-up blocker is enabled. Click the toggle to turn it off and disable the pop-up blocker.

You can re-enable the pop-up blocker at any time by returning to this setting and toggling the button back on.

Allow Pop-ups for Specific Websites

If you prefer to keep the pop-up blocker enabled but want to allow pop-ups from certain websites, you can add them to the exception list.

In Microsoft Edge’s Settings, navigate to Cookies and site permissions, then select Pop-ups and redirects.
Under the Allow section, click the Add button to include a new website to the exception list.
In the dialog box that appears, enter the URL of the website you wish to allow pop-ups from, then click Add.

Pop-ups from the websites you add to the Allow list will now be permitted, even though the pop-up blocker remains enabled for other sites.

By customizing the pop-up settings in Microsoft Edge, you can ensure that essential pop-ups are allowed while unwanted ones remain blocked, enhancing your overall browsing experience.
