PEAK Glider Glitch: How to Trigger the Ragdoll Speed Exploit

Ragdoll mid-glide to hit extreme speeds, clear big stretches of the next biome, and skip through the GLOOM fog.

Ragdoll mid-glide to hit extreme speeds, clear big stretches of the next biome, and skip through the GLOOM fog.

The Glider in PEAK is a utility item that lets you drift through the air while it’s held in hand. On its own it burns stamina fast, so covering long gaps can be a problem. There’s a way around that. By ragdolling in the middle of a glide, you can rocket forward at speeds the Glider never reaches normally, which is enough to skip large parts of a biome and even push through the GLOOM.

Quick answer: Equip the Glider and jump to start gliding, then hold R and select the Play Dead emote. Your character ragdolls and shoots forward at high speed. You lose all control until you land, so use it from a safe launch point.

What the Glider ragdoll exploit does

Gliding relies on the game’s ragdoll physics, and this trick pushes that system past its normal limits. The moment you switch into the Play Dead emote while airborne, your character goes limp and the forward momentum spikes. Instead of the slow, stamina-draining drift the Glider usually produces, you travel far faster and cover much more horizontal distance.

PEAK Glider Exploit, Explained (2)
The Glider is a large, hard-to-miss item pulled from Luggage.

The trade-off is control. While you’re ragdolled, you can’t steer, and a wall, ledge, or slope in your path can kill you before you recover. That makes the launch spot and your survival gear the two things that decide whether this works or ends your run.

What you need first

RequirementDetails
GliderFound inside Luggage, including Regular, Big, and Explorer’s Luggage. Ancient Luggage never contains one.
HeightA high surface such as a mountaintop or biome-entry cliff to launch from.
StaminaGliding drains 20 stamina per second, so start with a full bar and any bonus stamina you can carry.
Scout’s Tenacity AmuletStrongly recommended before launching, since it can save you from an otherwise fatal landing.

How to perform the Glider glitch

Open Luggage until you find a Glider. It’s a large item, so it stands out, and any Luggage type except Ancient Luggage can hold one.
Climb to a high point. A mountaintop near a campfire or the cliff at the start of a new biome gives you the drop you need to build speed.
Equip the Glider and jump off the edge. The Glider activates on its own, much like the Umbrella, and you begin to drift forward.
As soon as the glide starts, hold R to open the emote menu and select Play Dead. Your character ragdolls and immediately picks up speed.

Selecting Play Dead from the emote wheel triggers the ragdoll speed boost.
Ride out the momentum until you land. You have no steering during the ragdoll, so let it carry you and be ready to heal if you take fall damage on impact.

How to know it worked

You’ll see it right away. The instant you switch to Play Dead, your character flops into a ragdoll and your speed jumps well beyond a normal glide. Covering a long stretch of ground this way also makes the Hang Gliding Badge easy to earn, since that badge requires flying 100 meters with the Glider without touching the ground. Completing it rewards the Triforce t-shirt.

Staying alive and where to use it

Because you can’t correct your path once you ragdoll, the extra speed becomes a hazard if anything is in the way. Equip the Scout’s Tenacity Amulet before you launch so you can survive a landing that would otherwise be lethal. Keeping a First Aid Kit ready is also worth it for the fall damage on touchdown.

The best moments to use it are the tops of mountains as you head into the next biome, where you already have the height to gain distance, and the GLOOM, where the speed lets you push through the fog instead of crawling through it. This trick doesn’t reach the raw distance of the Scout Cannon glitch, but with a clear runway ahead it clears sections of terrain quickly and reliably.
