Cheat Code inputters are the glowing panels that hand out Sprites in Fortnite Override, Chapter 7 Season 4. They have taken over the job that Sprite Chests did last season, so if you are still running old chest routes and coming up empty, that is why. Each panel shows a short string of directional arrows, and copying that string correctly rewards you with a random Sprite.
Quick answer: Look for a brightly lit panel on a wall, floor, or rock inside a named point of interest. Interact with it to start the Cheat Code, then enter the arrow sequence shown using your movement inputs (forward is Up, back is Down). Finish the sequence and a Sprite drops for that match.

How to spot a Cheat Code inputter
The game helps you home in on a nearby panel with two cues. A green arrow indicator appears on your screen and points toward the closest inputter, and an audio cue plays as you get near it. Follow the arrow until the panel comes into view.
The panels themselves have a bright digital look and stand out against normal walls and floors. They are attached to structures rather than sitting on the ground like a chest, so they can show up on exterior walls, inside buildings, on floor tiles, and even on rocks. If you want to skip the searching, equip a Cheat Code Locator, a new Override Gizmo that pings the nearest panel directly.

Note: Do not destroy the panel. If you break it, that inputter becomes unusable for the remainder of the match, so leave it intact until you have finished entering the code.
Cheat Master Sprites let you skip the sequence
If you have a Cheat Master Sprite equipped, you do not need to copy the arrows at all. Its bypass effect treats every input as correct, so you can mash any button to clear the panel instantly. Cheat Master variants come from Lobby Hack codes for select Sprites, as well as from chests and Cheat Code inputters.
Panel color and Sprite rarity
Each inputter gives a guaranteed but random Sprite, and the panel’s color tells you the rarity you are most likely to receive. Check the color before you commit, since a rarer panel is worth prioritizing when you are hunting higher-tier Sprites.
| Cheat Code color | Sprite rarity |
|---|---|
| Blue | Rare Sprites |
| Purple | Epic Sprites |
| Gold | Legendary (and Mythic) Sprites |
Rarity is random from panel to panel. You cannot count on a single spot always producing a Purple or Gold code, so hitting several inputters across a match gives you better odds at the Sprite you want.

Where Cheat Code inputters spawn
Panels appear inside named locations across the map, favoring building interiors, exterior walls, futuristic facilities, temple structures, and smaller landmarks. These points of interest have produced Cheat Codes consistently so far.
| Location | Notes |
|---|---|
| Green Hills | Sonic-themed POI, popular during launch week |
| Stone Sanctum | Large temple; check upper floors and side rooms, not just the courtyard |
| Lifty Lodge | Reliable interior spawns |
| Shaken Sanctuary | Home of the Aerial Assault quest panel |
| The Battlewoods | Search structures and smaller landmarks |
Other busy POIs such as Reality’s Reign and the Tetris-themed Sunken Shores are also worth a look, though their crowds and cluttered visuals can make panels harder to reach or spot. Search interiors carefully before you leave an area.
Complete the Aerial Assault’s Cheat Code quest
One inputter ties into a specific reward. Entering a Cheat Code at Shaken Sanctuary completes the “Aerial Assault’s Cheat Code” quest, which unlocks the Aerial Assault Trooper outfit. You do not need to survive to claim it. The quest registers as complete once the code is entered, even if you are eliminated moments later, and the outfit lands in your Locker afterward.

How to know it worked
A successful entry immediately grants a Sprite for that match, and the panel confirms the reward on screen. To keep a Sprite permanently, you still need to extract it, either by calling in an Extraction Crate at a marked Extraction Site or by using a Portable Extractor Gizmo for a quieter grab. Retired Chapter 7 Season 3 Sprites will not appear in these codes and cannot be used in Battle Royale; those can only be traded for and used in the Sprite Garden.
