The Colosseum has its own district in the Kingdom of Grandshelt. You reach it from Grandshelt, the Royal Capital, which appears on the Kingdom of Grandshelt map. The entrance is the west arm of the capital’s plaza, on the opposite side from the Commercial District arm. If you have not reached the capital yet, the story route is covered in the walkthrough.

Inside the Colosseum district, go to the Colosseum Receptionist to sign up for battles.
How to unlock the Colosseum
The Colosseum opens in Chapter 4, Banner Oath. You can’t get in during Chapters 1 to 3. After you save the King, a soldier at the end of the plaza’s west arm turns you back: “The Colosseum is just ahead, but it is closed until the town recovers.” He stays there until Chapter 4 begins, when the objective reads “Go to Mozul Station”.
Once the capital has recovered, the first time you walk in you hear “Looks like the Colosseum is open again.” From then on the receptionist takes sign-ups.
Fledgling Battle 1 recommends level 25. That makes the Colosseum better suited as an optional activity after the story’s opening chapters than as something to tackle as soon as it becomes available.
How the Colosseum leagues work
The proprietor lays out the structure early on. “Even an accomplished knight such as yourself must start from the bottom”, and each league has its own reception area, arranged in order: “From left to right, you’ll move from Fledgling to Brawler, then Gladiator, and finally to Champion.”

Each league holds five rank battles, and you have to clear all five before the next desk will take your name. Walk up to the Brawler desk too early and you get turned away with “Whoa, not so fast, buster! This is the Brawler League. You need to beat the Fledgling League first.”
- The Champion League sign-up is with the Colosseum Master, to the right of the Gladiator desk.
- For every battle, its detail screen lists the Recommended Level along with the First-Time Reward.
- A loss is not final. You can come back and try the battle again.
- A league you have already cleared can be fought again.
Champion is the top league. The game calls it “the most testing tier of the Colosseum”, and “only the best fighters who conquered the Gladiator League may register”.
Fledgling League battles and rewards
| Battle | Recommended level | First-time reward |
|---|---|---|
| Battle 1 | Lv. 25 | Magicite Shard x1 |
| Battle 2 | Lv. 27 | Adamantite x1 |
| Battle 3 | Lv. 29 | Ancient Greatsword x1 |
| Battle 4 | Lv. 31 | Magicite Shard x1 |
| Battle 5 | Lv. 32 | Gaia Hammer x1 |
The proprietor points you straight at the last prize. Of the Gaia Hammer, he says “it’s the prize for clearing the Fledgling League. Why not make it your first goal?” It is a hammer with Physical Attack 95 and Magic Attack 93, described as “A hammer that can pulverize boulders.” It is also the key to Titan’s side quest, covered in how to get Titan with the Gaia Hammer, and Titan’s stats are on the bosses list.
The Ancient Greatsword is one of the Ancient items, a greatsword with 1 Physical Attack and 1 Magic Attack. The rest of the set is in the Ancient equipment locations. The two Magicite Shards read “A shard imbued with the power of the Farplane. Has the power to awaken visions.” For more of them, check where to get Magicite.
The “Just Getting Started” achievement is awarded for finishing all Fledgling battles; it is included in the achievements guide.

| Battle 4 | Lv. 45 | Magicite x1 |
| Battle 5 | Lv. 48 | Ancient Cuirass x1 |
Recommended levels jump from 32 to 40 here, and the receptionist warns “It’s a whole ‘nother level from the Fledgling League”. The Ancient Cuirass is heavy armor and another Ancient item.
Adamantite is “An extremely hard and rare metal. Can be used as a material to craft weapons in the right hands.” Between Fledgling Battle 2, Brawler Battle 2 and Brawler Battle 3, the Colosseum hands out three Adamantite in total. Other sources are covered in where to get Adamantite. Magicite reads “A stone imbued with the power of the Farplane. Has the power to awaken visions.”
Win all five Brawler battles to earn the “Arena Fighter” achievement.

The Reflect Ring “Grants constant Reflect.”, the Barrier Ring “Grants constant Shell.” and the Protect Ring “Grants constant Protect.” They sit alongside the rest in the accessories list. Magicite Cryst also awakens Visions.
The “Career Fighter” achievement is yours after you clear every Gladiator battle.
Champion League battles and rewards

| Battle 3 | Lv. 90 | Lorica Apocalyptica x1 |

Register with the Colosseum Master and you are told “You are entering into a league no fighter in this Colosseum has ever dared to face.” The final fight asks for Lv. 99.
- Super Ribbon (accessory): “Nullifies all status ailments.”
- Lorica Sancta (light armor, Physical Defense 180, Magic Defense 180): “Increases potency of healing magic by 10%. Increases stagger power and damage dealt by Light attacks by 30%.”
- With Lorica Apocalyptica, the heavy armor, you get Physical Defense 255, Magic Defense 255, and Speed 30. Its effect is: “Increases HP by 500 and damage dealt by physical attacks by 30%, but HP is reduced by 10% of max HP every turn.”
- Dragon Seal (accessory): “Prevents encounters.”
- Omega Badge (accessory): “Significantly reduces MP cost of magic and skills.”
Both Loricas are compared with other body pieces in the armor list. After the last Champion battle, the Colosseum Master says “Congratulations, Sir Rain. You have won each and every fight this Colosseum has to offer.”
Proof of Victory and the Colosseum Quartermaster
Clearing all five battles in a league earns a certificate. The staff hand it over with “Here’s a certificate that proves you beat the league. Show it to the Colosseum Quartermaster, and they’ll offer you a wider range of items.” The quartermaster sits in the room to the right, and each certificate widens what that shop offers.

| Key item | Earned by |
|---|---|
| Fledgling’s Proof of Victory | Clearing the Fledgling League |
| Brawler’s Proof of Victory | Clearing the Brawler League |
| Gladiator’s Proof of Victory | Clearing the Gladiator League |
| Champion’s Proof of Victory | Clearing the Champion League |
The first three share the description “Proof of conquering the [league] League in the Colosseum. Unlocks additional items at the exchange shop.” The Champion certificate reads “Bestowed upon one who has overcome all trials. Proof of conquering the Champion League.”
Which Colosseum rewards to go for first
- Gaia Hammer (Fledgling Battle 5), because it leads to Titan.
- Ancient Greatsword and Ancient Cuirass, both Ancient items.
- The three Adamantite, for weapon crafting.
- The Gladiator rings, for constant Reflect, Shell and Protect.
- Super Ribbon and Omega Badge in the Champion League.

For weapons beyond the Gaia Hammer and Ancient Greatsword, the full weapons list covers the rest of the arsenal.
