Every Modern Warfare 4 Beta Weapon and How to Unlock It

The full beta armory, from the guns you start with to the ones locked behind the level 30 cap.

The full beta armory, from the guns you start with to the ones locked behind the level 30 cap.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta hands you a compact but varied armory, and almost every gun in it is tied to your account level. Nine weapons are ready the moment you load in, while the rest open up as you rank through multiplayer matches. Because the level cap shifts between the two beta weekends, the order you unlock things in matters.

Quick answer: Nine weapons are unlocked from the start. The other ten unlock by reaching set account levels, from the Type 73 at level 5 up to the Signal 50 at level 30. Play matches to earn XP and rank up; each weapon appears in your armory the instant you hit its required level.

Weapons unlocked from the start

Every weapon class in the beta has at least one option available before you earn a single level. These nine fill out a complete starting loadout, covering long range, close range, anti-vehicle, and melee.

The remaining ten weapons are gated behind account levels. Ranking up is the only requirement; there are no separate challenges to complete. The table below lists them in the exact order you will earn them.

Which weapons you can reach in each beta weekend

The level cap changes between the two weekends, so some weapons are simply out of reach until the second one. Weekend One raises your account to level 20. Weekend Two lifts the cap to level 30 and opens the top of the unlock list.

With the level 20 ceiling in Weekend One, everything up to the Hyeon Burst is obtainable. That covers the Type 73, M4, PPSH-41, Oris 8.6, and Hyeon Burst on top of the nine starters.

The five highest-level guns require Weekend Two, since their unlock levels sit above 20.

  • Kastov 762 (level 21)
  • .50 GS (level 23)
  • Patriot XMR (level 25)
  • X-58 NYX (level 27)
  • Signal 50 (level 30)

The Signal 50 sits at the very top of the ladder, making it the longest grind in the beta and the last weapon most players will add to their collection.

How to confirm a weapon unlocked

When you hit a required level, the match end screen shows an unlock notification, and the weapon becomes selectable in Create a Class right away. If a gun still appears locked after a match, you have not yet crossed its level threshold, so keep earning XP and check your rank against the table above.

Note: Because Operators are tied to individual loadouts in Modern Warfare 4, you can build up to 12 custom loadouts and slot each newly unlocked weapon into whichever one you like as soon as it opens.

That accounts for all 19 weapons in the beta across every class, from the starter Han 86 to the level 30 Signal 50. Line your rank-ups against the order above, and you will know exactly what each level brings before you reach it.
