The Fall Harvest World in Grow a Garden 2 has a new resident. The Muffin Bake Event drops a Baker NPC into the middle of the map, hands you a baking system built around gathered ingredients, and attaches a reward track full of pets, seeds, and crates to it. Alongside the event, the patch clears out a long backlog of bugs, from a Quest NPC handing out impossible mutation requests to console players who could not claim their Cornucopia.
Quick answer: Head to the Fall Harvest World, speak to the Baker in the center of the map to start the Baker’s Journey, bake muffins from gathered ingredients, then trade those muffins for the Goodie Bag, Sugar Crate, and Sugar Egg. Redeem the code FREESEED for a free seed.

How to start baking muffins with the Baker
The whole event is gated behind one conversation. Nothing about the muffin system appears in Garden Valley, so you need to be in the Fall Harvest World before any of it is usable.

Muffin rewards: Goodie Bag, Sugar Crate, and Sugar Egg
Muffins are the event currency. Instead of selling them for Sheckles, you trade them in for three new containers, each pointing at a different part of the reward pool.
| Reward | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Goodie Bag | The only source of the Sprinkle Sprout seed. |
| Sugar Crate | An event crate obtained by trading muffins. |
| Sugar Egg | The event egg tied to the new pet lineup. |

New pets added in the Muffin Bake Event
Five pets arrive with the Baker, and they split neatly into two groups. The Chicken feeds directly back into baking, while the rest are movement, economy, or novelty buffs.
| Pet | Effect |
|---|---|
| Chicken Pet | Lays Small Brown Eggs, which you can sell for Sheckles or Leaves, or use in muffin recipes. |
| Sugar Bunny | Increases your running and jumping speed. |
| Chocolate Lab | Small chance to duplicate seeds when you buy them from the seed shop. |
| Fat Cat | Increases your character’s size while equipped. |
| Muffin Man | Periodically triggers a Sugar Rush that raises your crop sell value for its duration. |
Note: the Chicken Pet is the one worth prioritizing if you plan to bake at volume, since its eggs are a recipe ingredient rather than just a sellable item.
New seeds: Wheat, Sugar Cane, and Sprinkle Sprout
Baking needs crops, so three seeds joined the Fall Harvest World with this patch. Two come straight from the Baker; the third is locked behind the reward loop.
| Seed | Where to get it |
|---|---|
| Wheat | Purchased from the Baker. |
| Sugar Cane | Purchased from the Baker. |
| Sprinkle Sprout | Obtained from the Goodie Bag. |
FREESEED code from the update
The patch includes one code, FREESEED, added specifically for people who read the changelog. Enter it exactly as written, in capitals, using the in-game code entry menu. If nothing lands in your inventory, the usual culprits are a typo, a stray space, or the code already being claimed on that account.
Bug fixes and quality-of-life changes
The non-event half of the patch is mostly cleanup, with a few changes that alter how existing systems behave. The Quest NPC in particular got both a fix and a straight buff.
| Area | Changes |
|---|---|
| Quests and NPCs | The Quest NPC now awards 2x Cornucopia instead of 1. It no longer asks for unobtainable mutations, and it no longer walks through the center of the map where the other NPCs stand. Console players who could not claim the Cornucopia can now do so. The Auctioneer highlights white when you stand near it, matching other NPCs. |
| Shops | The “Shop Restock” option was removed from the Prop, Seed, and Gear shops. The seed inspect UI in the store was fixed, and hover text on the Exclusive Fall Chest and Egg store previews now renders larger on small screens. |
| Interface | Guild Chat is no longer covered by the “Seed” teleport button on some devices, and its sizing on mobile was adjusted. The settings menu now fits better on smaller displays. |
| Gear and animation | Collision was removed from the held Wind Staff. The steal animation for bamboo and mushrooms now plays only after a successful steal, and the Fox and Raccoon use different stealing sound effects. |
| World and stability | The Atlantic Pumpkin harvest confirmation prompt stops reappearing after you accept it, until you change servers. A floating placeholder object under the map was removed, players no longer get stuck in a cutscene, and character size no longer breaks from spamming supersize and shrink mushrooms. |
| Guilds and onboarding | Guild Competition rewards that were being handed out without appearing in the Guild Reward List are now displayed properly. The new player tutorial received further optimization. |
Because the Fall Harvest World keeps a separate garden and inventory from Garden Valley, anything you earn from the Baker stays there unless you move it across with Magic Mail. Plan your muffin farming around that split, and get the Chicken Pet early if you want a steady ingredient supply rather than repeated trips to the seed shop.
