The Fortune Egg is one of the most valuable eggs you can farm in Grow a Chicken Fighter, and it is easy to spot thanks to its shiny golden shell with a bright yellow stripe across the middle. It matters because it can hatch heavy hitters like the Sovereign Rooster and the Golden Goose. You get one when the right high-rarity chicken lays it, either while deployed in your coop or while sitting in the Incubator.
Quick answer: Build toward the Founder Rooster, then keep it deployed or in the Incubator so it lays Fortune Eggs in bulk. The Incubator itself only opens after you reach Rebirth 3.

Which chickens lay Fortune Eggs
Several high-rarity chickens can produce Fortune Eggs. The Founder Rooster is the one most players chase because it is the most reliable early target, and it drops these eggs quickly once it is working for you.
- Baron Cluck
- Golden Goose
- Storm Colossus
- Talon Titan
- Ironcluck
- Blitz Rooster
- Founder Rooster
- Shockwave Hen
- Oracle Chick
The Golden Goose is the standout among them. It is the only chicken with a 100% chance of laying a Fortune Egg, which makes it the best possible producer once you actually own one.

Add to Google Preferences →Fastest Fortune Egg route through the Founder Rooster
If you are early in the game, the cleanest path is to grind your way to a Founder Rooster and then let it lay Fortune Eggs for you. That means climbing through Nest Eggs and Thunder Eggs first.

Note: The Incubator only becomes available after you complete Rebirth 3, so plan your Rebirths around unlocking it before you commit to farming Fortune Eggs this way.
What hatches from a Fortune Egg
A Fortune Egg can hatch one of four chickens, ranging from a Legendary all the way up to a Secret. The odds heavily favor the two lower tiers, so the top prizes take patience.
| Chicken | Rarity | Hatch chance |
|---|---|---|
| Founder Rooster | Legendary | 52.5% |
| Baron Cluck | Mythic | 43.4% |
| Sovereign Rooster | Celestial | 3.0% |
| Golden Goose | Secret | 1.0% |
The Golden Goose is the rarest pull at 1.0%, and it is worth the wait. It carries the Za Warudo ability, which stops time and lets it land several free hits on an opponent. Because it also lays Fortune Eggs at a 100% rate, a single Golden Goose can become your permanent source. Fuse it with other chickens until it gains the Fertility mutation, which cuts down its egg-laying time.

How to hatch a Fortune Egg
Once you have a Fortune Egg, cracking it open is quick. Open your eggs inventory, select the Fortune Egg, and press the yellow Hatch button. The chicken you receive is shown right after the egg opens, and it drops straight into your Flock so you can deploy, upgrade, or fuse it.
From there, the loop is simple. Keep a Founder Rooster or Golden Goose producing eggs, hatch each Fortune Egg as it comes, and roll toward the Sovereign Rooster and Golden Goose while banking Baron Cluck and Founder Rooster pulls for your Arena roster.
