The Executioner of Darkness Plate Gloves are a unique pair of gloves worn only by Damiane, tied to House Thorel of the Kingdom of Demeniss. They sit inside a treasure chest hidden in a sea cave that most players glide straight past, so the tricky part is the approach rather than any fight.
Quick answer: Fly to the rock formation off the east coast of Bowsprit Cape in southeastern Demeniss (south of the “I” in Demeniss, past Serpent Marsh), move to the back or east side of the rock, and drop into the dark crevice to fall into a hidden cave with the chest.
Bowsprit Cape sea cave location in Demeniss
The chest is in a rocky island off the coast near Wells Estate, below the Bay of Abundance. You need the Flight skill to reach it, since the only way across is a glide over open water. Aerial Roll makes the crossing faster because it lets you dash while gliding.

Note: If you cannot make the crossing, the most common reason is not having the Flight skill unlocked yet. The other easy mistake is landing on the wrong rock. The correct one is the formation with the flat top and a crevice on its lower, seaward face.

The gloves are a Tier 3 plate item with two Abyss Gear sockets and can be dyed. They come pre-socketed with Vitality I and Blessing of the Earth I. The table below shows their values at maximum refinement.
| Property | Value (+10) |
|---|---|
| Worn by | Damiane |
| Attack | 35 |
| Defense | 19 |
| Attack Speed | 0 |
| Movement Speed | 0 |
| Tier | 3 |
| Sockets | 2 |
| Dyeable | Yes |
| Pre-socketed gear | Vitality I, Blessing of the Earth I |
Vitality I restores about 0.2 health every second, and Blessing of the Earth I gives a 10% chance to gather extra minerals while mining. The gloves themselves carry no separate special effect.
Refinement path and materials
Refinement is handled at the Blacksmith. The gloves start at +0 with 11 Attack and 2 Defense, then climb to 35 Attack and 19 Defense at +10. Most of the middle tiers rely on Iron Ore, Short Hair Hide, Fang, and Abyss Artifacts, while the final push needs a rarer material.
| Level | Attack / Defense | Key materials |
|---|---|---|
| +2 | 15 / 4 | Iron Ore x2 |
| +5 | 21 / 9 | Iron Ore x5, Short Hair Hide x6, Fang x1, Abyss Artifact x1 |
| +8 | 27 / 15 | Iron Ore x9, Short Hair Hide x14, Fang x4, Bismuth Ore x1, Abyss Artifact x1 |
| +9 | 30 / 17 | Iron Ore x12, Short Hair Hide x20, Fang x6, Bismuth Ore x3, Abyss Artifact x1 |
| +10 | 35 / 19 | Aeserion’s Scale x1, Abyss Artifact x1 |
Rest of the Executioner of Darkness set
The gloves belong to a four-piece Damiane set that has no dedicated plate chest piece. The other pieces are scattered across the coastal border between Demeniss and Delesyia, so completing the look means several separate trips.
| Piece | Location |
|---|---|
| Plate Helm | Chest behind flammable vines at Marni’s Outpost, Gorthak region of Delesyia |
| Plate Gloves | Sea cave off the coast of Bowsprit Cape, southeastern Demeniss |
| Plate Boots | Cliffside crevice below the Abandoned Hushwind Cabin, Hushwind Hills, southwestern Delesyia |
| Plate Cloak | Alcove east of Three Brothers’ Cliff shipwreck, southwestern Delesyia |
Because the set skips a plate chest piece, many players pair it with another Damiane top for the look. It offers higher than average defense across the plate pieces, with the attack weighted onto the gloves and boots, plus Fire Resistance on the cloak. Once you have all four pieces in your inventory, they are ready to slot into Damiane’s loadout and refine.
