Beast of Reincarnation: How to Get Chain Mail and the Mechblade (Light) Early

Pick up the Chain Mail armor and Mechblade (Light) within minutes of starting, including the Cliffside Village chest code.

Pick up the Chain Mail armor and Mechblade (Light) within minutes of starting, including the Cliffside Village chest code.

Two of the first meaningful upgrades in Beast of Reincarnation are available almost immediately after you land in Cliffside Village. The Chain Mail armor raises your defense, and the Mechblade (Light) hits harder than the weapon you begin with. Both are reachable using your hair ability to climb and grapple, so no deep progression is needed to grab them.

Quick answer: Open the Cliffside Village chest with code 08110, then run north from the Walker and grapple to the platform past the old village for the Chain Mail. For the Mechblade (Light), head east to the Ruined Tower, climb to the top floor, beat the elite golem, and open the tent behind it.

Chain Mail and Mechblade (Light) stats

Here is what each pickup gives you once claimed. The Chain Mail carries a notable trade-off, since its Enemy awareness is rated Extreme, meaning enemies spot you more easily while you wear it.

Get the Cliffside Village chest code 08110 and golem intel

Start from the Cliffside Village Inhabiter fast travel point. This early loop hands you a chest and marks the Mechblade (Light) location on your map, so it is worth doing before the two gear routes.

From the Cliffside Village Inhabiter point, travel northwest across the rice paddy fields. Fight or slip past the enemies scattered through the paddies as you push toward the far wall.

Cross the metal walkway to find a sitting golem. Speak with it, and the Mechblade (Light) location is added to your map.

How to get the Chain Mail armor

The Chain Mail sits north of your starting Walker, past an old village and up on a raised platform. You only need your hair ability to cross the gaps along the way.

Begin at the Walker and follow the main path north.
Use the hair ability to cross the bridge gap, then continue to the rest station on the other side.

How to get the Mechblade (Light) weapon

The Mechblade (Light) is guarded by an elite golem at the top of the Ruined Tower, east of the same rest station you used for the armor route.

From the first rest station, travel east along the edge of the land until you reach the Ruined Tower.
Scale the tower with your hair abilities, clearing the enemies you meet on the way up.
Reach the rest station inside the tower, then continue to the top floor.
Defeat the elite golem guarding the tent on the top floor.

Enter the tent behind the fallen golem and interact with the object inside to claim the Mechblade (Light).

Confirm you collected both upgrades

Once each chest or tent object is opened, the item is added to your inventory and can be equipped straight away. Check your equipment screen to confirm the Chain Mail reads Defense 24 with 4 Spirit Stone Slots, and the Mechblade (Light) reads Attack 27 with the Mech Slash: Light skill. If the Mechblade marker never appears on your map, return to the sitting golem near Cliffside Village and speak with it again, since that conversation is what reveals the weapon’s location.

Note: While the Chain Mail improves your survivability, its Extreme Enemy awareness rating means foes detect you sooner, so consider swapping it out when you want to avoid fights rather than push through them.
