The full Lyren questline, level requirements, and stats for the Astral Observatory keytar rod, plus its unrestriction path.

Stellarwave Melody is a Stage 8 fishing rod in Fisch, added with the Astral Observatory update on August 22, 2026. It looks like a neon keytar with glowing cyan, purple, and white accents, and you earn it by finishing a questline handed out by the Lyren NPC inside Boreal Hollows.

Quick answer: Reach Level 1000, complete Brayden’s questline at Boreal Pines, enter Boreal Hollows, trigger a Celestial Congregation so Lyren appears, then finish her three quests to receive the rod.

Requirements before you start

Lyren does not appear by default. She only spawns after you clear Brayden’s questline and then activate a specific weather event. Line up these conditions first so the rest of the process runs without stalling.

Complete Brayden’s questline

Brayden’s two-part questline is what allows Lyren to appear at Boreal Hollows. Find him at Boreal Pines using the coordinates 21627, 140, 4483, then work through his tasks.

Accept Anomaly Investigation: Brayden’s Star Projector and gather the broken stars scattered around the area.
Catch a Resin and return it to Brayden.
Obtain an Aurora Glass Diamond and hand it over to finish his questline.

Reach Boreal Hollows and spawn Lyren

Boreal Hollows is a hidden cave on Boreal Pines. To enter it, head to the higher regions of the island and step through the glowing portal located near a lake. Lyren stands toward the back of the cave, but only while a Celestial Congregation is active.

Celestial Congregation is an Astral Anomaly you can start manually by placing a Stellar Lens into Astronomer Vega’s telescope. During the event, luck rises by 25% and the chance for the Celestial mutation becomes 5%. Once it begins, return to the cave and Lyren will be present to give you her quests.

Finish the Lyren questline

Lyren offers three quests that must be cleared in order. The first two are short catch tasks, while the third spreads you across the map.

Quest 1: A Celestial Conjuring

Perfect Catch seven Mythical fish with each of three rods. You need seven caught with the Aurora Rod, seven with the Celestial Rod, and seven with the Mythical Rod. A common approach is to boost resilience with a Lullaby rod effect and target Whisker Bills at Moosewood with Aurora active.

Quest 2: Stargazing

  • Catch any Blue Moon fish (during a clear night, using a Blue Moon Totem).
  • Catch a Sparkling Aurora Celestial Koi (Poseidon’s room, using a Seraphic Rod with Aurora bait).

Quest 3: The Cold Void

This final quest has three parts. First, find all 12 symbols placed across the map. Then complete two catching objectives.

The 12 symbol locations are Moosewood Village, The Laboratory at Oil Rig, Enchanted Crevice, the skull of Forsaken Shores, the secret cave of Sunstone Island, Terrapin Island, Roslit Volcano at Roslit Bay, the Rainbow Cluster rod room at Castaway Cliffs, the village area of Lost Jungle, Mushgrove Swamp, the waterfall cave of Ancient Isle, and Everturn Forest.

  • Catch 18 fish with the Sparkling mutation in the pond at the top of Snow Cap island.
  • Catch an Abyssal Umbral Shark at Keeper’s Altar (Fish Head bait works here).

Return to Lyren after all three parts are done. Completing the questline adds the Stellarwave Melody rod to your inventory. You will know it worked when the rod appears in your bag, though it arrives in a restricted form with a portion of its power locked.

Stellarwave Melody stats

StatValue
Lure Speed88%
Luck244%
Control0.1
Resilience30%
Max KgInfinite
Line Distance188 m
Fish Weight0.8×
Progress Speed+24%

Its mutation kit gives a 25% chance for Aurora, 18.8% for Melody, 8.8% for Synth, and 5% for Sparkling. The Melody mutation multiplies a fish’s sell value by 8.18×, which makes the rod useful for cashing in higher-value catches.

Unrestrict the rod with Final Convergence

The rod starts capped. To unlock its full form and its zodiac meter, you complete a follow-up quest called Final Convergence. This is a separate grind from earning the rod, and the cap only lifts once every stage below is finished.

Catch the Sparkling Aurora Isonade. Equip the Stellarwave Melody rod with Truffle Worm bait and fish inside the whirlpool while a Rainbow is active. Keep casting until you land the Isonade rather than a normal catch.

Activate every Astral Anomaly. Craft the required lens, charge the batteries, then find and switch on all five telescopes. Missing even one leaves this stage unfinished.
Collect the cosmic-mutation fish set. Catch all twelve species below, and confirm each one carries a Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora mutation. The mutations do not have to match across the set, but a plain catch will not count.
FishRequired mutation (any one)
Boreal Man o’ WarNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Goliath SifterNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Shimmering SilversideNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
LionfishNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora

King CrabNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Frigid AnglerNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Broken ArrowNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Bull SharkNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Largemouth BassNova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora
Return to the quest NPC to complete Final Convergence. The hand-in only fires when all three earlier stages are truly done. If it does not complete, the usual cause is a telescope you never switched on or a fish that counted without a valid mutation, so recheck both before speaking to the NPC again.

Tip: A practical way to farm cosmic-mutation fish is the Cerulean Fang with plenty of Starlight Worms, using a harpoon and crab cage for the free-roaming and caged species. Nova tends to be the easiest of the four to land.

Once Final Convergence clears, the rod switches to its full form. During a catch, symbols such as Aries appear on screen, and clicking the 12 symbols in the order the game gives you fills the progress meter. That saved progress carries between catches, which is what lets the unrestricted rod push its bar so quickly on large fish while keeping the infinite weight ceiling and 244% luck of its base stat line.
