Forza Horizon 6: How to Earn 1 Star in a Horizon Story (Winter Daily Challenge)

Finish any Horizon Story chapter with at least one star to bank 5,000 Credits and a Festival Playlist point.

Finish any Horizon Story chapter with at least one star to bank 5,000 Credits and a Festival Playlist point.

The Winter Season daily challenge “Horizon Story” asks for one thing. You need to earn at least one star from any Horizon Story in Forza Horizon 6. It is one of the fastest daily objectives in the Festival Playlist because a single completed chapter clears it, and the payout is 5,000 Credits plus one seasonal point toward your rewards.

Quick answer: Open the World Map, filter it to show only Stories, drive into the Nangan Day Trip event in the Nangan Region, start its first chapter in Solo, and finish under the two-star time. Crossing the line with one star or more marks the challenge complete.

What the Horizon Story daily challenge requires

The condition is deliberately loose. Any Horizon Story chapter that awards stars counts, and you only need a single star. You do not have to three-star the run, and you do not have to complete a whole story from start to finish. One qualifying chapter with a passing time is enough to trip the objective.

Reward-wise, the challenge pays 5,000 Credits and one Festival Playlist point. That point matters if you are chasing the season milestones, since accumulated points unlock the season reward cars.

Find a Horizon Story on the map

Stories can be hard to spot among the clutter of icons on the Japan map. The quickest way to isolate them is with the map filter, so you fast travel straight to a qualifying event instead of driving around blind.

Open the Festival Playlist under the Winter Season and confirm the “Horizon Story” daily challenge is listed. It reads “Earn at least 1 star from any Horizon Story.”
Open the World Map, then open the Map Filter. Deselect every option so the map goes clean, and enable only “Stories.” Now the map shows Horizon Story markers by themselves.

Move the cursor to a Story marker and select it. The Nangan Day Trip in the Nangan Region is a reliable pick, tied to the Discover Japan set.

Run the Nangan chapter and take a star

Start the first chapter of the Nangan Day Trip. Choosing Solo mode keeps the run clean and avoids waiting on other players.

After the short intro cutscene, drive to the destination within the target time. The route pushes through a tunnel, so hold a clean line and keep your momentum up.

Cross the finish before the two-star cutoff so you bank at least one star. A finish around 01:45 lands two stars, which more than satisfies the challenge.

Here are the Nangan chapter star thresholds so you know what you are aiming for:

ResultTime needed
3 starsUnder 01:40.000
2 starsUnder 02:30.000
1 star (enough for the challenge)Finish the chapter above the two-star pace

Confirm the challenge is done

Once the chapter ends and your star total shows on the results screen, return to the World Map and open the Festival Playlist. The Horizon Story daily challenge should now be highlighted in gold, and the 5,000 Credits plus one point are added to your season total.

If the challenge does not tick over, the usual cause is picking an event that awards no stars. Some demonstration-style events do not grade with stars, so make sure the chapter you ran shows a one-to-three star rating on completion. Any Horizon Story that hands out stars works, so if Nangan Day Trip is unavailable, swap the map filter back to Stories and choose another marker.
