ZOO or OOF 2 is a round-based hide-and-catch game on Roblox made by Dropping a Banger. Every match randomly splits players into two sides. Most people spawn as animals trying to escape the zoo, while one player becomes the zookeeper armed with a tranquilizer. The animals win by surviving until the timer hits zero, and the zookeeper wins only by knocking out every animal before that happens.

Quick answer: Open Roblox, launch ZOO or OOF 2, and wait for the warm-up to assign your role. As an animal, hide among the crowd and stay still until the clock runs out. As the zookeeper, tranquilize every animal before the timer ends.

Roles and how a round is won

When a round starts, the game loads a map and runs a short warm-up while it rolls random characters. You will either become an animal or the zookeeper, and the chance of spawning as the zookeeper is low because there is only one per match.

The two sides have opposite goals. Animals need to survive the full timer. The zookeeper needs to catch the entire lobby. If even a single animal is still standing when time expires, the zookeeper loses the round.

Playing as an animal

After the warm-up, animals get a brief hide phase to find a spot before the zookeeper begins the hunt. Maps are small with limited cover, so picking a good position early matters. Some animals can even glide from tall structures, like climbing onto an airplane on the Airport map and floating down.

Movement is what gives you away. The moment you walk, jump, or shift your position, an alert zookeeper spots the difference. Find solid cover, crouch to shrink your profile, and hold still until your location is actually compromised.

You have one big advantage as an animal. The zookeeper always shows up as a red outline that you can see through walls. Use that to track where the hunter is and to rotate away safely when they get close.

Your choice of animal changes the risk. Bigger animals are easy to see but take several darts to go down. Tiny animals are hard to spot and move fast, but a single dart can knock them out.

Playing as the zookeeper

As the zookeeper, time is against you, so every shot counts. Scan each area carefully before firing rather than clicking at random animals and wasting darts. Look for movement, animals facing odd directions, or players who break their idle pose because they panicked.

Take out the large animals first since they are the easiest to spot, then clear the smaller ones one at a time. Work through the map methodically, finishing one section before moving on, and stay calm when firing at close range.

Taunting and earning currency

Press E to taunt. Taunting rewards in-game currency, but it briefly highlights your position and reveals you even through cover. The closer you are to the zookeeper when you taunt, the bigger the payout, so the safest earnings come from timing taunts when the hunter is distracted or has no line of sight to you.

At the end of a round you get a Match Recap that adds up your earnings. Animals collect a Taunt Bonus for taunting and a Survive Bonus for lasting the round, while zookeepers earn their paycheck through eliminations.

Costumes and cosmetics

The Costumes menu sells animal skins for in-game currency, with prices ranging from a few thousand up to tens of thousands. Options include skins like the Wizard Rhinoceros for $28K, the Artist Hippopotamus for $60K, and cheaper picks such as the Vacation Giraffe for $3.2K. These skins are visual only and do not give any gameplay advantage, though some rarer looks are naturally harder to pick out while hiding.

The game is free to play, with optional in-game purchases. There is no active code redemption feature at the moment, so currency comes from playing rounds rather than entering promo codes.

Because the game is still in beta, Dropping a Banger keeps pushing updates that add maps, animals, and events. The core loop stays the same across all of it. Hide well and survive as an animal, or hunt efficiently and clear the lobby as the zookeeper, and you will win rounds no matter which side you land on.
