The named Operators in Star Wars Zero Company are the story characters who join your squad as the Clone Wars campaign unfolds, each carrying a fixed talent that shapes how they play. Tel-Rea, Jae, Hawks, and Kabb stand out because their talents and skills let you break the normal action-point (AP) economy or unlock exclusive specializations. Trick sits at the bottom, since his talent is one you want to avoid triggering.
Quick answer: Bring Tel-Rea and Jae whenever they are available. Tel-Rea is the only Operator with the Padawan/Wayseeker specializations, and Jae’s Final Shot passive gives you a free kill on low-health enemies every turn. Add Hawks or Kabb for extra AP, and skip Trick unless a mission forces him on you.

Named Operators tier list
This ranking covers the scripted, authored Operators only. Custom recruits from the Den run on randomized specializations and talents, so they are judged on a different scale.
| Tier | Operators |
|---|---|
| S | Tel-Rea, Jae |
| A | Hawks, Kabb |
| B | Luco, Cly |
| C | Trick |

Add to Google Preferences →S Tier: Tel-Rea and Jae
Tel-Rea Vokoss is the strongest pick in the game, mainly because she is the only Operator who uses the Padawan and Wayseeker specializations instead of the standard eight classes. Those trees give her Force Push and Force Pull for displacing enemies at range, a Lightsaber Throw ultimate that can clear multiple foes, high-damage melee strikes, and the Padawan Training passives that improve her critical chance and defense. Her talent, Strong with the Force, starts each turn with two stacks of Harmony that boost her lightsaber attacks and deflection. She fits nearly every mission, so keep her in the rotation.
Jae Mordant earns her spot on the back of Final Shot, arguably the best talent in the game. Once per turn, she automatically fires and eliminates any enemy left at or below a health threshold after an allied Operator attacks it. That free execute is worth at least one AP plus whatever damage the surviving enemy would have dealt, and upgrading the talent raises the threshold up to 10 Health or less. The only catch is that Jae needs line of sight on the target when it drops to that health, so you may occasionally spend AP repositioning her.

A Tier: Hawks and Kabb
Hawks is your customizable squad leader and player character, immune to permadeath, so he appears in most missions anyway. His passive, Fearless Leader, adds +1 Assist Damage to every Operator while he is present, and upgrades increase that bonus and add a Defense buff. He also has an exclusive skill called Pico-5, which hands another Operator +1 AP at the cost of Advantage. One extra AP can swing a fight, and pairing Hawks with a Scout who runs Combat Recon lets you generate the Advantage needed to fire Pico-5 every turn.
Kabb Uppercut plays into the same AP-cheating theme, and does it more aggressively than anyone. His Uppercut talent rushes an enemy, deals melee damage, and pushes the target back, and defeating that enemy refunds all the AP you spent, up to a 3-AP return. Even a single AP back per turn puts you ahead, so aim for a killing Uppercut whenever possible. The knockback also repositions enemies for your ranged Operators, so the skill stays useful even when it doesn’t score a kill. He only misses S Tier because the Assault specialization’s Bull Rush can approximate the same trick with a lower ceiling.
B Tier: Luco and Cly
Luco Bronc, an Umbaran sniper, runs Combat Gas, which grants three stacks of Sharpened Senses. Each stack adds +5% Chance-to-Hit and +1 Ranged Attack Damage, with one stack expiring after every ranged attack. The effect is reliable rather than exciting, so Luco works best as a substitute when a preferred Operator is unavailable. Build him around a few high-impact shots instead of many small ones so you refresh Combat Gas less often. Sharpshooter is a strong specialization here, and pairing it with Scoundrel lets him guarantee crits and assist better.
Cly Kullervo, a Mandalorian, uses Combat Jump to leap to a target spot with her jetpack, pushing nearby enemies out of position without triggering Overwatch or Retaliation. Upgrades add a Burn component, so it behaves like a repeatable firebomb-plus-concussive effect that also closes distance. The raw power is high, but the game offers plenty of other ways to displace enemies and apply status effects, which makes the talent feel replaceable. Cly is also locked to her Warrior specialization, which sits below the top-tier classes even with a second spec like Gunslinger added on.

C Tier: Trick
Trick, a clone trooper, lands at the bottom because his talent works against your normal goals. For My Brothers revives him once per combat at half health the turn after he is Downed. Since you generally want to keep Operators from being Downed at all, this is a talent you hope never to use, unlike the others that reward active play. Upgrades restore more health and can prevent the injury that comes with being Downed, which opens the door to deliberately sacrificing him for an advantage. In practice, that situation rarely comes up, so he stays benched unless a mission requires him.
Named Operator talents at a reference glance
| Operator | Talent | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Tel-Rea | Strong with the Force | Starts each turn with 2 Harmony stacks affecting Deflection and Lightsaber Attacks. |
| Jae | Final Shot | Once per turn, executes a low-health enemy after an ally attacks; threshold scales up to 10 Health. |
| Hawks | Fearless Leader | +1 Assist Damage to all Operators; upgrades add more damage and Defense. |
| Kabb | Uppercut | Rush and strike an enemy, pushing it back; a kill refunds all AP used. |
| Luco | Combat Gas | Gain 3 Sharpened Senses stacks (+5% hit, +1 ranged damage each); one expires per ranged attack. |
| Cly | Combat Jump | Jump to a location, pushing nearby enemies; ignores Overwatch and Retaliation. |
| Trick | For My Brothers | Once per combat, self-revives at half health the turn after being Downed. |
The theme across the top of the list is AP economy. Jae’s execute, Hawks’ Pico-5, and Kabb’s Uppercut refund all give you effective extra actions, while Tel-Rea’s exclusive Force toolkit does damage and control the standard classes can’t match. Around the halfway point of the campaign, a second specialization slot opens for each named Operator, so you can lean the mid- and lower-tier picks toward whatever role your squad is missing. Even so, Tel-Rea and Jae remain the safest anchors, and Trick is the one you can leave at the Den without regret.
