Spinosaurus is not bought with points in Jurassic Genesis. It is locked behind a single Roblox badge called Tyrant Killer, and the only way to earn that badge is to survive a hidden boat sequence that starts with a ringing phone in the swamp. The run takes roughly ten minutes end to end and it is mostly a test of patience, not skill.

How to reach the ringing phone in the swamp

Launch the game, press PLAY, and pick HUMANS on the team screen. Dinosaurs cannot interact with the phone, so a human character is mandatory for this part.

On the spawn selection screen, choose Docks and drop into the map. This is the closest practical starting point to the swamp and it puts you next to a vehicle garage.

Head to the garage, open the vehicle spawner, and spawn a Ford Raptor. It costs nothing, and driving cuts several minutes off the trip compared to running.

Leave the truck at the cliff and continue on foot, dropping down into the water. The truck will flip if you try to drive it down, so abandoning it here is the safer option.

Listen for a ringing sound as you swim and walk through the swamp. The volume rises as you get closer, and the phone sits on top of a large rock. Climb it and touch the phone to teleport out.

Tip: Turn game audio up before you reach the swamp. The ringing is the only reliable directional cue, and the area is dark and visually repetitive.

The boat engine repair mini-game

Touching the phone drops you onto a boat drifting down a foggy river at night, opening with the radio line “SOS, Requesting help, unknown asset is in pursuit, does anyone copy?” From that point the loop never changes. The engine breaks, you fix it, and you repeat until rescue arrives.

Wait at the engine until it breaks down. There is nothing else to do on the boat, so staying next to the interaction point saves time on every cycle.

Keep repeating the repair for roughly 8 to 9 minutes. Fog thickens, glowing butterflies drift past, and a Spinosaurus silhouette swims by the boat at points, but none of it requires a reaction from you.

How to confirm the Tyrant Killer badge unlocked

The run ends with a radio message from the USS Vigilant confirming your signal was received and that help is on the way. A badge notification then appears reading “Badge Awarded: Community’s ‘Tyrant Killer’ award!”

Immediately after, Roblox disconnects you. The moderation message reads “You escaped the Spinosaurus. (Error Code: 267)”. That kick is the intended win condition, not a bug or a ban, so nothing has gone wrong if you see it.

Leaving the boat sequence early has the same result. Because the badge only fires on the USS Vigilant rescue, quitting at the seven or eight minute mark counts for nothing, and progress does not carry over to a second attempt.
