The Parasite Egg is the rarest thing The Hungry Monster hands out in Steal An Egg, and it is the only reward from the Monster Chest that guarantees a Parasite mutation on whatever hatches from it. Getting one is a grind loop rather than a purchase, so the faster you can run infected eggs back to the Safe Zone, the more rolls you get.
Quick answer: Steal five parasite-infected eggs, feed each one to The Hungry Monster in the Safe Zone to push its bar up 20% per egg, then open the Monster Chest at 100%. The Parasite Egg drops from that chest at a 1.5% rate, so expect to repeat the loop many times.
How to spot a parasite-infected egg
An infected egg looks exactly like a normal egg with one difference. A purple parasite is clamped onto the shell, and it is visible from a distance, so you do not need to walk up to every spawn to check. Infected eggs start showing up from the Snow (Ice) map onward, and they keep appearing in the later areas, including Titan Temple.
The map an egg comes from does not change what it is worth to the monster. An Ice egg and a giant Titan Temple egg both fill 20% of the bar. That means the fastest route is whichever infected egg is closest to your Safe Zone, not the most expensive one you can reach.

Monster Chest drop rates
Four of the five possible drops are consumables or cosmetics. The Parasite Egg is the only one that produces a pet, and it is the rarest slot on the table.

At 1.5% per chest and five stolen eggs per chest, a Parasite Egg costs roughly 330 successful egg deliveries on average. Plan the loop around short routes rather than trophy eggs.
How the chest buffs behave
The three timed buffs all run for five minutes and they do not stack. Rolling a buff you already have active simply pushes the timer back to five minutes rather than adding to it. Because of that, there is no reason to hoard chests hoping to build a long buff window.
The 1.25x Speed buff is the one worth using immediately. Giant eggs from Titan Temple normally slow you to a crawl and force stops on the way back, and the speed boost is usually enough to carry one home in a single run. The 2x Treadmill Speed buff only matters while you are on the treadmill, so save it for a training session instead of a steal run.
Confirming it worked
A successful feed is easy to verify. The monster’s bar moves in a visible 20% jump, and after the fifth parasite it fills and converts into a chest you can open on the spot. If the bar does not move, the egg you carried back was a normal egg without a parasite on it.
When the 1.5% roll lands, you get an item notification naming the egg, such as “x1 Parasite Kaiju Spider”. Place it down like any other egg and let it hatch. Everything from a Parasite Egg comes out with the Parasite mutation applied, which is what separates a Legendary Parasite Spideron at $577K/s from the standard Legendary Spideron at $360K/s. The high end of the pool includes pets like the Secret Parasite TRex at $75M/s.
Why the loop fails
Most lost progress comes from the trip home, not the steal itself. Traps freeze you long enough for someone else to grab the egg out of your hands, and an “ALL EGG RESET!” event clears eggs from the map, so anything you were lining up disappears and you restart the route.
One reward regularly gets mistaken for a pet. The Flyswatter is a skin for your bat, not a creature, so hitting it at 5% does not add anything to your Pet Index or your income.
The Hungry Monster arrived alongside the Titan Temple biome as part of a limited-time event, and no end date for it has been confirmed. If you want the Parasite mutation on your board, bank the chests while the monster is still standing in the Safe Zone.
