Anime Expeditions: How to Get Secret Enel and Sinbad Fast in Update 2

The exact material, drop rate, and hosting rules that decide whether you walk away with Lightning God (Overcharged) or Sovereign (Djinn).

The exact material, drop rate, and hosting rules that decide whether you walk away with Lightning God (Overcharged) or Sovereign (Djinn).

Update 2.0 of Anime Expeditions added two Secret units that sit behind the new Portals gamemode rather than a banner. Enel appears in-game as Lightning God (Overcharged), and Sinbad appears as Sovereign (Djinn). Neither can be summoned with Gems. Both are locked behind a crafted Secret Portal, and the way you enter that portal decides whether the unit is guaranteed or a coin flip weighted heavily against you.

Quick answer: Farm 4x Charged Dust from Tier 5 Sky Ruins Portal for Enel, or 4x Djinn’s Treasure from Tier 5 Summer Portal for Sinbad, craft the matching Secret Portal at the lobby crafting station, then host that portal yourself and clear it. Hosting gives a 100% drop; joining someone else’s Secret Portal gives 2%.

Which material each Secret unit needs

The two units do not share a material and they do not share a farming route. Each Tier 5 portal type drops exactly one of the crafting items, so pick your target before you start grinding.

Sovereign (Djinn) — Sinbad4x Djinn’s TreasureSummer Portal, Tier 5 (also obtainable in infinite mode)

Both materials carry a 4% drop chance with a 25-run pity. That pity is the number worth planning around, because it caps the worst-case grind. Sky Ruins Portal is permanently obtainable, so Enel’s route stays open after the summer content rotates out. Djinn’s Treasure is also tied to the Tidal Siege event, which awards materials toward Sovereign’s Secret Portal.

Skip the portal upgrade cost by joining Tier 5 lobbies

Portals run through five tiers, and pushing your own portal from Tier 1 to Tier 5 is slow and expensive. You do not need to do it. Charged Dust and Djinn’s Treasure drop from the Tier 5 stage itself, so you can join a lobby hosted by another player who already owns a Tier 5 Sky Ruins or Summer Portal and farm there.

Note: this shortcut applies to the material farm only. It does not carry over to the Secret Portal itself, where hosting is what matters.

Host vs non-host drop rates for the Secret Portal

This is the rule that costs people their materials. A Secret Portal is consumed by the person who owns it, and only that person is guaranteed the unit.

PortalHostNon-host
Lightning God’s Portal100% — guaranteed Lightning God (Overcharged)2% chance
Sovereign’s Portal100% — guaranteed Sovereign (Djinn)2% chance

Clearing a friend’s Secret Portal as a guest is not a reliable path to the unit. Treat those runs as a bonus, not a plan. The same logic applies while farming materials: if you clear a Tier 5 portal you did not host, the rewards screen will not show Charged Dust or Djinn’s Treasure for you.

Fastest route from zero to a Secret unit

Pick one target first. Chasing Enel and Sinbad at the same time splits your runs across two different Tier 5 portals and slows both pity counters.
Join a lobby hosted by a player who already owns the Tier 5 portal you need. Sky Ruins Portal for Charged Dust, Summer Portal for Djinn’s Treasure. Hard Mode runs are standard here.
Repeat Tier 5 clears until you have four of the material. The 25-run pity means the worst case is bounded even if the 4% roll never lands early.
Return to the lobby and walk up to the crafting station. Press E to open the menu when the prompt appears.

Select Lightning God’s Portal or Sovereign’s Portal under Secret Portals and use Quick Craft or Craft. Each recipe consumes four of the matching material.
Host the crafted Secret Portal yourself and clear it. Bring friends if you want the run to go faster, but the portal must be yours.

How to confirm you got the unit

The unit appears on the post-run rewards screen after a victory in your own Secret Portal, then lands in your Units list as Lightning God (Overcharged) or Sovereign (Djinn). Lock it immediately so it cannot be sold or fed into an upgrade by accident.

If nothing dropped, one of two things happened. Either you were not the host of the Secret Portal, in which case you were rolling the 2% chance, or the run was a Tier 5 material portal rather than a crafted Secret Portal. Material portals never award the Secret unit directly.

The evolution path from the base units

Update 2.0 added both Secret units alongside their base forms, Lightning God and Sovereign. Lightning God evolves into the Overcharged form using an Ancient Relic, and Sovereign evolves into its Djinn form. The Secret Portal route is the direct way to obtain the finished units, and it is the one covered by the host-only guarantee.

Sovereign has one extra wrinkle worth knowing. Tidal Siege, the event mode running with this update, hands out materials that feed into Sovereign’s Secret Portal, so time spent clearing waves there is not wasted if Sinbad is your target.

The whole system rewards patience over spending. Portal upgrades drain gold for very little benefit when other players are already hosting Tier 5 rooms, and the 25-run pity guarantees your materials eventually arrive. Keep one target in mind, farm in someone else’s lobby, and save the hosting for the run that actually pays out.
