Fishing in Anime Expeditions arrived with the Summer Siege update, and the fish index tracks every unique catch across the lobby and the game mode maps. Each fish carries a star rarity, and that rarity decides how much Fishing EXP you earn per catch. If you are working through the index or grinding ranks during the Tidal Siege event, knowing where each fish lives saves a lot of wasted casts.
Quick answer: The index lists 18 fish across five maps. Coopfin is the rarest at 5 stars and spawns in both the Lobby and the Tidal Siege (Coral Kingdom) map. Higher-star fish give more Fishing EXP, so target 3-star and above when you want faster level-ups.

Every fish and its map location
The table below lists each fish, where it spawns, and its rarity. Rarity runs from 1 star (common) to 5 stars (rarest). Some fish appear in more than one place, so check both the Lobby and Tidal Siege columns if you are hunting a specific catch.

|---|---|---|
| Blue Tang | Lobby | 1-star |

You can only cast into large, still bodies of water. Fast-flowing water will not let you fish. On the story maps, fishing unlocks once a run starts, so you cannot cast before pressing Start and waiting for the first waves.
Lobby
The Lobby holds seven fish, including the rarest catch in the game. Water pools sit near many of the main hubs, so you have plenty of spots to choose from.
- Either side of the Story mode hub
- Near the Carrot Summer NPC
- Right of the AFK Chamber hub
- Near the Guilds and Tower hub
- Near the Summon hub
- Inside the Upgrades hub
- On either side of the Leaderboards hub
- Near the Tournaments hub
Coral Kingdom (Tidal Siege)
Coral Kingdom is the Tidal Siege event map and is only reachable through the event tab. It holds six fish, and you can cast almost anywhere across the map since it is built around water.
School Grounds
Play the Infinite mode of the School Grounds story map to reach the fishing spot. Follow the path to its end until you reach a large building, then step onto the building’s grounds and turn left to find a pool of water. Equip your rod there and cast.
Flower Forest
Load into Flower Forest in Infinite mode, then move behind the enemy spawn portal. Any water you find back there is fair game for casting.
East Town
Follow the East Town path to the end and keep walking until the open sea appears. The Bioinsect NPC sits on your left near this spot. Cast directly into the sea to catch Clown Fish, Puffer Fish, and Sword Fish.

How rarity affects Fishing EXP
Rarity scales directly with EXP. A 5-star Coopfin rewards far more Fishing EXP than a 1-star Blue Tang, so if you are chasing rank progression rather than index completion, plan routes around the highest-star fish available on each map. Farm the 1-star and 2-star catches only when you need to fill index slots or gather currency.
Note: The index tracks 18 unique fish, but some maps repeat catches. Because Prize Fish, Fusion Fish, Shellphone Snail, and Coopfin all appear in both the Lobby and Coral Kingdom, you can complete much of your rare-fish hunting without leaving the event map.
Rewards tied to fishing
Every catch feeds two systems. Fishing EXP raises your Fishing rank, while Milestone EXP fills your milestone track for one-time rewards. Fishing also has a small chance to hand you special rods.
| Reward | How you earn it |
|---|---|
| Fishing XP | Every catch; raises your Fishing rank |
| Milestone XP | Every catch; unlocks milestone reward tiers |
| Lucky Rod | 1% chance to drop after catching any fish |
| Recycling Rod | Fish 100 times |
Reaching higher Fishing Event Ranks boosts your currency gain, climbing from a 20% bonus at Novice up to a 100% bonus at Grandmaster. Those bonuses make dedicated fishing sessions worthwhile if you are trying to clear the Summer Siege shops before the event ends. Keep casting for the higher-star fish, and your rank and milestone rewards will climb together.
