Electrical Tape is one of the trickier early materials in Breathedge 2 because it never floats loose like Metal or Electronics. It clings to broken red pipes around the station, and you cannot pull it off until you have built the right tool. That means the resource sits in plain sight long before you can actually collect it.
Quick answer: Craft the Cutter, then use it on the half-broken red pipes sticking out of the platform edges. Each pipe yields two units of Electrical Tape, and there are at least four pipes to harvest.
Where Electrical Tape is located
Electrical Tape is attached to the damaged red pipes that jut out from the edges of the station platforms. These are not marked as obvious pickups, so you have to look at the pipe ends rather than scanning for a floating item. The spots are spread around the starting area, with at least four separate pipes to visit.
Every pipe you cut gives two units of Electrical Tape. Clearing all four marked pipes leaves you with enough to cover the important repairs in Chapter 1 while still progressing the main objectives.
You need the Cutter first
Electrical Tape should not be your first goal. Harvesting it requires the Cutter, and the Cutter sits at the end of a short chain of gathering and crafting. Trying to grab the tape before you have the tool just wastes time near the pipes.

How to confirm you collected it
When the Cutter connects with a red pipe, the pipe breaks down and Electrical Tape drops into your inventory as two units. If nothing registers, you are either using the wrong tool or standing at a pipe that has already been cut. Check that the Cutter is equipped and move to another marked pipe.
What Electrical Tape is used for
Electrical Tape goes toward two key repairs inside the train, and both directly affect survival. Fixing the Nutri-Pack creator and the kettle keeps your hunger and thirst under control without constant scavenging.
The Nutri-Pack creator produces high-quality food. Eating a Nutri-Pack restores 25 units of hunger, while raw resources like apples only add 6, so the repair pays off quickly.
The kettle matters even more. Without it, you cannot produce drinkable water and are left looting water packs from crates or eating ice, which is far less efficient than boiled water. Ice is also needed to produce oxygen, so leaning on it for hydration drains a resource you want elsewhere.
With four pipes cut and eight units of Electrical Tape in hand, you will have enough to finish these repairs and keep helping Babe with the main questline without doubling back for more.
