Glimpses are the resource you hand to Zhirelle in the Shellkeeper’s Vault at Marrow Keep to raise a Shell’s Bonding Tier, expand its Shell Points capacity, improve recovery efficiency, and unlock new Memories. Cleansing Beacons, clearing Corrupted Gates, and Gloom siphoning Ova will get you plenty as you play, but those sources together only cover three or four Shells at most. To finish the rest, you need to farm Glimpse Stones.
Quick answer: Reach The Unfound Path in the endgame, kill Lithopods near the Chamber of the Forsaken beacon to collect Glimpse Stones, then equip a Glimpse Stone and defeat 20 enemies to break it for 3 Glimpses. Repeat until every Shell is maxed.

What a Glimpse Stone Does
The Glimpse Stone is a Fragile Tarstone added in the Week 1 update. When you equip it and defeat 20 enemies, it breaks and grants 3 Glimpses. You can only equip one Glimpse Stone at a time, since Fragile Tarstones do not stack, so the farming loop is fixed at 20 kills per stone.
Glimpse Stones drop only from the Lithopods, the stone crab enemies, inside The Unfound Path. The Lithopods you meet in the main game do not drop them; those only yield Egon’s Stone, Justiciar’s Stone, and Gloombound Stone. You can also buy a Glimpse Stone from Merrick in Marrow Keep.

You cannot farm Glimpse Stones until The Unfound Path is open. To reach it, collect 167 Ova from Corrupted Gates and cleansed beacons, then use the Gloom Siphon in Marrow Keep. Doing so opens an underground passage inside Marrow Keep that leads into the area.
How Many Glimpses You Need
Fully upgrading a single Shell costs exactly 27 Glimpses. A normal playthrough leaves you with enough to max out three Shells without any farming. The remaining five Shells are where the grind comes in.
| Target | Amount |
|---|---|
| Glimpses to max one Shell | 27 |
| Glimpses for the remaining five Shells | 135 |
| Glimpse Stones needed (3 Glimpses each) | 45 |
| Enemies to defeat (20 per stone) | 900 |

Farm Glimpse Stones at the Chamber of the Forsaken
The fastest place to collect Glimpse Stones is right around the Chamber of the Forsaken mini beacon inside The Unfound Path cave. Pairing the Shuddering Stone with the Forgotten Crossbow gives each bolt enough knockback to shove the Lithopods off the ledge, killing them instantly without a real fight.
Each run takes under 15 seconds and returns about one Glimpse Stone on average. Roughly 15 minutes of this loop is enough to bank every stone you need.

Break Glimpse Stones at Blackridge Pass
Once you have your stones, the quickest place to hit the 20-kill requirement is the Blackridge Pass beacon. Two hanging bats sit on a tree just across the bridge, and both can be dropped with a single shot each.
This clears roughly two enemies every five seconds, which works out to about one stone broken every 50 seconds. Breaking all 45 stones takes under 50 minutes.

Confirming It Worked
You know a stone has broken when your Glimpse count rises by 3 and the equipped Glimpse Stone disappears from your Fragile Tarstone slot. Spend the Glimpses with Zhirelle in the Shellkeeper’s Vault to push a Shell’s Bonding Tier higher and unlock its Memories. Since the Week 1 patch made Glimpses and Tarcores non-finite, there is no cap stopping you from upgrading every Shell and Tarstone in a single playthrough.
