On the Run is one of the Prologue side quests in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it hinges on a farmer’s escaped pig. It is short, it costs a chunk of Coen’s day, and it ends with a decision that changes what you walk away with.
Quick answer: Talk to Iorgu at his house, follow the pig’s tracks from the bridge using Focus Mode, take the pig back from Kuno, chase and catch it, then return it. Helping with the slaughter pays 250 XP and 50 Denarius plus meat; buying the pig instead costs 100 Denarius.
On the Run time cost and what to bring
The whole quest consumes 2 Time Segments, split across the conversation with Kuno and the chase. The important detail is that the clock does not move mid-quest. The second segment is only deducted once you finish everything, so you can safely start On the Run with just two segments left before the Blood Mass.
Bring an Apple if you have one. It is not required, but it turns the final catch into a single interaction instead of a scramble through the trees. The apple is consumed when you use it.
Note: if the “TIME IS RUNNING OUT” warning appears telling you the Blood Mass will start soon, you are down to your last stretch of daylight and may need to pick which quests to finish. On the Run still completes fine from that point, since it locks its own time cost until the end.

Iorgu stands outside his own house, south of Gremla’s house and southwest of the Laslea Center Shrine. Speak to him and pick “I can look for your pig” to accept. His fence is broken, his son is sick, and he has no time to go hunting for livestock himself, so he points you toward the bridge and suggests apples as bait.

If you already ran into Kuno earlier in the Prologue, Coen brings him up during this first conversation and you go into the search knowing who has the animal.

Kuno’s camp: fight him or skip the fight
Kuno insists the pig is his. The conversation costs 1 Hour, and the branch that matters is his question about who owns the land you are both standing on.
| Dialogue choice | Outcome |
|---|---|
| “I do.” | Kuno refuses to hand the pig over and a fistfight starts. |
| “Knyaz Brencis does.” | Kuno backs down and you skip the fight entirely. |
The brawl is a short unarmed exchange with no weapons involved. Land a few hits and Kuno yields, which resolves the “Take the pig back from Kuno” objective either way.

Iorgu’s pig choice: slaughter, refuse, or buy
A cutscene puts the pig back in its pen, and then Iorgu explains that he intends to slaughter it. He asks Coen to help hold the animal steady. This is the decision that determines your reward.

| Choice | What you get |
|---|---|
| “All right, I’ll do it” (help with the slaughter) | 250 XP and 50 Denarius. Accepting the meat adds 4 Sausage and 2 Pork. |
| “Can’t help you, I’m afraid” (refuse) | 250 XP and 50 Denarius, with no meat. |
| “How about I buy her from you? (100)” | 250 XP and a loss of 100 Denarius. The pig turns up at your house after the Prologue and starts a short quest that returns items worth more than the 100 you paid. |
Buying the pig is the only option that costs money up front, and it is the only one that keeps the animal alive. It is also the option with the largest long-term payout, since the follow-up at your house is worth more than the purchase price.

Confirming On the Run is complete
The quest closes out on the final conversation with Iorgu. You will see the reward pop up on screen, On the Run is marked finished in the journal, and only then does the second Time Segment come off your clock. If your timer has not moved after the pig is back in its pen, you have not reached the end of the quest yet.
The objectives run in a fixed order, so the journal is a reliable way to check where you stalled.
| Stage | Objective text |
|---|---|
| Search | Search for the pig’s tracks by the bridge using Focus Mode |
| Track | Track down the pig using Focus Mode |
| Kuno | Take the pig back from Kuno |
| Chase | Follow the pig / Catch the pig |
| Return | Take the pig back to Iorgu / Return to Iorgu’s house / Talk to Iorgu |
| Optional ending | Help Iorgu slaughter the pig / Hold the pig’s head / Hold the pig steady |
If you plan on buying the pig, keep 100 Denarius spare before you head back, since the option is greyed out without the coin. Everything else about the quest works the same regardless of how the day is going, which makes it a reasonable filler task when you have two segments left and nothing bigger to spend them on.
