The chest inside Maragir Wealds Tower holds the manual that opens up the Witchcraft cooldown perk.

Witchcraft abilities in The Blood of Dawnwalker sit on cooldowns, and the Aether Flow perk is the one that shortens them. You cannot buy that perk in the development tree until you own a copy of the Aether Flow Manual, and the most reliable early copy sits in a chest inside Maragir Wealds Tower.

Quick answer: Climb Maragir Wealds Tower on the eastern edge of the Maragir Wealds region, use blood magic to break the wooden blockages on the interior stairs, then loot the chest near the top to pick up the Aether Flow Manual.

Aether Flow Manual location: Maragir Wealds Tower

Maragir Wealds Tower is one of the Scouting Towers scattered across Vale Sangora, and it doubles as a loot stop. The chest is partway up the interior, not on the roof, so you do not need to reach the very top just to get the manual.

Set a marker on Maragir Wealds Tower on the world map and travel to the base of the structure. The tower sits at the far eastern edge of the Maragir Wealds region, and the entrance is at ground level.

Head inside and look for the wooden boards blocking the stairwell. Use blood magic on the debris to smash it apart and open the path upward.

Climb the stairs and clear the next set of obstructions the same way. There is a Vidmo specter waiting inside the structure, so be ready for a fight before you settle in to loot.

Open the chest near the top of the tower. The Aether Flow Manual is inside, along with a few other pieces of loot.

Open your inventory and read the manual. Its description reads, “An arcane text about aether. Unlocks a new perk for purchase in the development tree,” and nothing happens in the skill tree until you actually read it.

Tip: while you are up there, keep climbing to the roof and use the scouting prompt. Surveying the area adds points of interest to your map and awards 100 XP, and tagging a Scouting Tower does not burn any time segments.

How to confirm the Aether Flow perk unlocked

After reading the manual, a “NEW PERK AVAILABLE” notification calls out Aether Flow. Open the character menu and check the Witchcraft tree, where the Aether Flow node changes from locked to purchasable.

If the node still looks unavailable, the usual reasons are simple. The manual is sitting unread in your inventory, or you have not paid the rest of the cost — Witchcraft perks also require experience points and time segments on top of the manual, so owning the book alone is not enough to activate the bonus.

What Aether Flow does

Aether Flow is a Witchcraft perk that cuts the recovery time on your Witchcraft abilities. The in-game text is blunt about it: “Reduces Witchcraft Ability Cooldown.”

RankEffect
First rank-10% Cooldowns
Higher ranks-20% Cooldowns
Higher ranks-5% Cooldowns on Critical Hit

Because each rank needs another copy of the manual, one book only takes you one step up the ladder. Witchcraft abilities are daytime-only, so the perk matters most if you lean on hexes and spells during the day rather than saving everything for your night-time vampiric kit.

Other places to find Aether Flow Manuals

Manuals are not one-off pickups. There are more in the world than you strictly need, and copies of Aether Flow show up in several places.

SourceDetails
Rockfalls TowerIn a chest, south of the abandoned village of Oghasti and west of the Lunar Manor. You must go inside and Shadowstep between wooden boards.
Church TowerThe church from the prologue Blood Mass, climbable once you have vampiric traversal.
Witch of the Barren PeaksMiniboss at the southern Sacred Stone for A Pilgrimage for Power. Drops the manual plus a Crimson Band and Aetheric Essence.
Cathedral Complex libraryBookcases can contain it, though the manual you get is randomized.
Enemy drops and vendorsManuals appear as random loot and are stocked by Witchcraft vendors, sometimes for thousands of Denarius.

Because tower chest contents and library bookcases can shuffle, the copy you pull may not match another player’s run. If Maragir Wealds Tower hands you a different manual, Rockfalls Tower and the Witch of the Barren Peaks fight are the most dependable backups.

Since climbing towers costs no time segments, sweeping them early is the cheapest way to stockpile manuals before the clock starts squeezing your schedule. Grab the Aether Flow copies as you go, read them the moment they land in your bag, and spend the points when you can actually afford the time.
