The Silts Tower is one of the 11 Scouting Towers scattered across Vale Sangora, and it is easily the strangest one on the list. It doubles as Aurelius’ Tower, holds a chest reward on an upper balcony, hides a crafting component used for one of the game’s best armor sets, and contains a door that can end your entire playthrough if you walk through it at the wrong moment.
Quick answer: Travel to the Silts at night, follow the Silts Tower marker south of The Silts, then chain Shadowstep warps up the wooden platforms and scaffolds until you reach the roof. Survey from the summit to fill in the map, then drop back down to the balcony chest for the Unnatural Resilience Manual.
Silts Tower location and requirements
The tower stands in a snowy, forested stretch of the Silts, south of the settlement called The Silts. It is a tall, half-collapsed structure of stone and timber, with exposed wooden platforms and scaffolding running up the outside — those planks are the climbing route.
| Detail | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| Region | The Silts, south of The Silts settlement |
| Also called | Aurelius’ Tower |
| Time of day | Night only |
| Abilities | Shadowstep to warp up ledges; Planeshift for wall sections |
| Chest reward | Unnatural Resilience Manual |
| Also inside | Flask of Quicksilver, in Aurelius’ study room |
| Counts toward | Bird’s-Eye View (climb and survey all 11 towers) |
| Time cost | None — Scouting Towers do not advance the 30-day clock |
Daytime is a dead end here. Coen only has access to Shadowstep and Planeshift after dark, and without them there is no way onto the first platform. Because towers cost you no in-game days, it is worth clearing several of them in a single night early on.

How to confirm the tower counted
Reaching the top is not enough on its own. The tower only registers once you have used the survey prompt on the marked points, and the confirmation is immediate — clusters of question-mark icons appear on the world map across the surrounding region, and the white tower icon on the map updates.
If nothing populates, the usual causes are simple. You arrived during the day and could not reach the roof, you climbed to the summit but skipped the survey prompts, or you ran out of stamina mid-warp and never made the final wooden wall. None of these lock you out; return the next night and repeat the route.
What else is inside Aurelius’ Tower
The interior is tied to the Home Sweet Home quest, and it holds one item you will want later. Climbing up through the tower leads to Aurelius’ study room, where the Flask of Quicksilver sits on a table. That flask is one of the four components needed to forge the Arbiter Armor set at the Uriash Hermit blacksmith.
The tower also stages a ritual, and interfering with it sets off an encounter unlike anything else at the other ten towers. If you only came for the chest, you can skip that entirely by staying on the exterior walls and ledges and dropping to the balcony from the roof.
Note: Be careful with the door on the top floor. Interacting with it during Home Sweet Home starts a dream loop, and if you fight through that loop and then speak to your family inside it, you trigger the Together Forever ending and your run finishes there. Keep a manual save before touching it.
Treat the Silts Tower the way you would treat the rest of the towers — climb it early, survey everything from the top, grab the manual, and leave the top-floor door alone until you are ready to deal with what is behind it.
