Treasure Map: Briar Sloughs is one of the buried-stash maps in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it does not hand you a clean marker to walk toward. The map itself sits inside a bandit camp chest, and the stash it points to is tucked away in the wetlands well south of where you picked it up.
Quick answer: Clear the bandit camp in the eastern part of Briar Sloughs and loot the chest there to get Treasure Map: Briar Sloughs, then travel south to the swampy patch marked by a large tree and a corpse, and dig the glowing yellow spot at its base.
Where the Briar Sloughs treasure map is found
The map is loot, not a reward from a quest giver. It sits in the chest at a Bandit Camp in the eastern stretch of Briar Sloughs, flagged on the world map with the standard bandit camp icon and the description “The hideout of dangerous outlaws.” On the Vale Sangora map, the camp sits at roughly X 19616, Y 13647.

Reading the map adds the objective Bandit’s Treasure Map: Briar Sloughs to your journal. The camp is also worth a full sweep on the way out, since an Adrenaline Rush Manual, a Vitality Balm, a Golden Chalice and loose Denarius turn up in the same area.

The stash is not at the camp. Once the map is in your inventory, the dig site appears further south, in the boggy ground the region is named for. Open the map and select the marker to set your route before you set off, because the wetland paths wind and the landmark is easy to walk straight past.

On the ground, look for a single large tree standing over the marshy patch with a corpse lying beside it. That pairing is the landmark. The disturbed earth is right there at the base of the tree, showing as a faint glowing yellow patch, and Focus Mode makes it obvious if the light or the undergrowth is working against you.
Digging up the buried chest
Coen needs a shovel in his inventory to excavate anything in the game, so check for one before you make the trip. Without it, the glowing patch simply will not give you an interact prompt, and there is no substitute item.

Briar Sloughs treasure rewards
The payout is a mix of gear, a skill manual and cash. Nothing here is legendary, but the manual is the reason to make the trip.
| Reward | Type |
|---|---|
| Restless Blade Manual | Skill manual |
| Mercenary’s Ring | Accessory |
| Adorned Well-Fitted Trousers | Armor |
| Denarius | Currency |
Why the dig prompt is not appearing
Three things account for almost every failed attempt. You have not actually read the map in your inventory yet, so the dig site marker never populated. You are missing a shovel. Or you are standing on the wrong patch of ground, which is common in the swamp because the terrain repeats. Switch to Focus Mode and circle the tree until the yellow highlight resolves.
Note: it is easy to confuse this map with Treasure Map: Silver Cache, which also leads into the Briar Sloughs area but is looted during The Cursed Chasm and starts the separate Finders Keepers side quest. Different map, different dig site, different loot.
Once the chest is emptied and the journal entry closes out, the map is spent and the marker clears from your world map. Vale Sangora holds a dozen of these buried caches in total, and they all follow the same rhythm — kill something, read a scrap of paper, then find the one tree that looks slightly more deliberate than the rest.
