Quick answer: Create a solo party, spawn into the round, and immediately walk a full lap around the outside of the hay pile scanning for purple Void Hay. Collect it for +250 diamonds, then leave and create a new room to reset the pile. Repeat.

How to farm Void Hay in solo rooms

From the lobby, use Create Party and set Select Party Size so you are running the map alone. Solo is the point here — you decide exactly when to abandon a room and restart, with nobody else disturbing the pile.

Start the round and do not begin collecting yet. Walk a full circle around the outside of the hay pile with your camera pulled back, watching for a purple flake sitting in or on the surface of the yellow hay.

If you spot Void Hay, collect it. You will get a +250 diamonds notification and your balance updates immediately, which is your confirmation the pickup registered.

Leave the round and create a fresh room. Leaving is what resets the pile and rolls new hay, so there is no reason to stay once you have taken the purple flake.

If a room shows nothing purple after one lap, leave anyway and roll again. Cycling rooms is faster than searching one pile thoroughly, and a Void Hay pickup typically lands within two to three minutes of resetting.

Note: burrowing into the hay does not improve your odds, and it costs time. Keep to the outer surface, keep the camera wide, and treat each room as a two-minute scan rather than an attempt at the needle.

Finding the needle by accident

It happens. While circling and pulling at surface hay you can uncover the needle itself, which triggers the NEEDLE FOUND! banner and a +100 diamonds payout. It is a bonus, not the goal — take it and start the next room.

You are committing to full clears. Finishing the pile takes far longer than a reset and pays less than one Void Hay.
You are searching from too close in. A tight camera hides purple flakes on the far side of the pile.
You stayed in a room that showed nothing. The roll is fixed for that pile; only leaving and creating a new room changes it.
You sank into the hay. Use the U “Unstuck” button rather than fighting the geometry.

Run it as a rhythm rather than a grind: enter, lap, decide, leave. At two to three minutes per successful pull, the diamond counter climbs faster than it ever will from completing rounds, and the Movement Speed buff you buy along the way shaves time off every lap after it.
