The Blood of Dawnwalker: Drogos Location in Svartrau City

The combat trainer sits in a hidden basement behind a textile stall, and here is the exact route down to him.

The combat trainer sits in a hidden basement behind a textile stall, and here is the exact route down to him.

Drogos is one of the harder trainers to reach in Vale Sangora, not because he is far away, but because his map marker points at a spot where he clearly is not standing. Follow the icon in Svartrau City and you end up in an open square with a textile stall in front of you and no obvious door. The trainer is directly below you, at the bottom of a staircase that runs behind a shop counter.

Quick answer: In Svartrau City’s Silberstein district, walk behind the textile stall next to the Drogos map icon, enter the dark doorway into the Silberstein General Trader’s room, open the wooden door at the back, go down the stairs past the guard, and turn left into the back room. Drogos stands near a ladder.

What Drogos sells and trains

Drogos is a combat trainer rather than a general merchant. Talking to him opens the option to train fighting skills, and his stock covers Manuals & Recipes. Manual and recipe inventories do not refresh the way weapon and armour stock does on other vendors, so there is no reason to keep returning to him daily hoping for a better roll.

Note: prices at every vendor in the game shift with your Infamy level, and a high Infamy level makes purchases more expensive. Levelling the Bewitching Influence ability pushes them back down.

Route to Drogos in Svartrau City

Open the map, find the Drogos icon in the Silberstein part of Svartrau City, and set it to track. The marker sits on the surface even though the trainer himself is underground, so treat it as a doorway pointer rather than a destination.

Travel to the marker on foot. You should end up in a street facing a textile stall, with cloth hung across the frame. This is the correct spot even though no shop entrance is visible from the front.

Walk around the stall and head for the dark doorway behind it. The opening is unlit and easy to read as scenery, so aim for the gap in the wall rather than the cloth.
Inside is the Silberstein General Trader. Ignore the trade prompt if you only want the trainer, cross the room, and open the wooden door at the back wall.

Pass the guard standing beyond the door and take the wooden stairs down. The guard is not hostile and does not block the descent.
At the bottom of the stairs, turn left and continue into the back room. Drogos is standing near a ladder, and the prompt reads “Talk with Drogos”.

How to confirm you found the right NPC

Interacting with him brings up his name, Drogos, along with the line “You can train your fighting skills here.” A Manuals & Recipes tab appears alongside the training option. If you are looking at a Rebel or a Guard prompt instead, you have stopped short of the back room and need to keep going left past the foot of the stairs.

Why the route fails

Two things usually go wrong here. The first is treating the map icon as the trainer’s literal position and circling the square looking for him at street level. The second is arriving at night, since most vendors and shopfronts in Vale Sangora close after dark and open again during the day. If the basement route is shut, sleep or spend time until morning and walk back in.

Once you have made the trip once, the basement is easy to re-enter, which matters because Silberstein also holds a Medic, an Innkeeper and Rud Junior’s Armourer within a short walk. Clearing the training session and the manual purchase in one visit saves you from spending in-game time crossing the city again, and time is the resource you have least of.
