Xanthe’s Transports: Past Glory Walkthrough in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Intercept the artifact convoy, clear the escort, and loot the Legendary Ring of the Night in one short trip.

Intercept the artifact convoy, clear the escort, and loot the Legendary Ring of the Night in one short trip.

Past Glory is one of the artifact transport activities in Xanthe’s Court panel, and it is one of the quickest legendary drops in Vale Sangora. There is no puzzle, no dialogue tree, and no branching choice — you find a convoy walking down a forest road, kill everyone escorting it, and search what is left.

Quick answer: Track Xanthe’s Transports: Past Glory, follow the road until you catch the walking convoy, kill every guard and the wolves that join the fight, then loot the bodies and the transport. The Ring of the Night and Orders from Xanthe are in that pile.

Past Glory requirements and time cost

Past Glory sits in the artifact transports group of Xanthe’s Court Activities, alongside When Two Dogs…. Like almost every Court Activity, it costs 3 time segments out of your 30 in-game days, and finishing it pushes Xanthe’s Anger Level up toward her duel quest.

DetailValue
Activity groupXanthe — artifact transports
ObjectivesIntercept the transport → Loot the transport
Time cost3 time segments
Suggested levelXanthe’s region is tuned for level 25+
Encounter typeMoving road convoy, not a fixed camp
Main rewardRing of the Night (Legendary)

Xanthe is the third vassal in the recommended order behind Ambrus and Bakir, so most players arrive here with a comfortable level buffer. Nothing about the activity expires as long as you have not started it.

Where to find Xanthe’s transport

Court Activities are not pinned on the map for you. Until you discover one in the world, it shows up in the Court panel as an unknown entry. The fastest fix is climbing the nearby scouting towers first, which drops white question mark icons on everything in range and turns a blind search into a straight run.

Open the journal, select Xanthe’s Transports: Past Glory, and set it as your tracked quest. The objective should read “Intercept the transport.”
Open the map and check the marker’s position in the wooded area to the north. Because this is a convoy on the move, the marker points at the road it is walking, not at a static camp you can approach from any angle.

Run the marked dirt path until you catch up. Xanthe’s men are moving with pack animals hauling the cargo, so if the marker seems to drift, keep following the road in the direction it is travelling instead of cutting across open ground.

Tip: Shapeshift from the Vampirism tree and Mercurial Fervor from the Witchcraft tree both make chasing a moving convoy far less tedious.

How to beat the escort

Approaching the group triggers the fight immediately. The escort is a mixed pack rather than a single elite, and wolves will join partway through, so you can end up fighting on two fronts if you let yourself get surrounded on the path.

Some of the guards are heavily armored and soak far more punishment than the rest. Open on those first with your strongest ability while the lighter enemies are still closing in, then clean up the stragglers and the wolves.

Coen is stronger at night with claws than with a sword during the day, so if you are underlevelled for Xanthe’s region, waiting for nightfall before you engage is the cheapest advantage available.

Loot the transport and find Orders from Xanthe

Once the last enemy drops, the objective flips from “Intercept the transport” to “Loot the transport.” This is the part people skip, and skipping it means walking away from the legendary reward entirely.

Walk over every body on the road, including the wolves, and hold the loot prompt on each one. The drops are spread across several corpses rather than sitting in a single container.

Search the cargo itself as well as the escorts. The full haul here includes the Precision Manual, the Restless Blade Manual, the Second Skin II Manual, a Green-Gilled Mushroom, and assorted consumables and equipment.
Pick up Orders from Xanthe, the letter carried by the escort. It instructs the transport crew to collect everything without opening the containers, and reading it is the moment the activity resolves.

Ring of the Night stats

The Ring of the Night is the headline drop, and it is built entirely around the vampiric half of Coen’s kit. It leans hard into night play and actively punishes a sword-and-block build.

PropertyValue
RarityLegendary ring
Item level33
Maximum Vampiric Health+33%
Vampiric Health Segment Regeneration+1% per second
Vampiric Ability Cooldown−11%
Blood Drinking Restoration+44%
DrawbacksReduced weapon critical hit damage, reduced benefit from blocking

If you fight mostly with claws after dark, the health pool and cooldown reduction are worth the trade. If your build depends on Perfect Blocks and weapon crits — which is exactly what the Xanthe boss fight rewards — the penalties will hurt more than the vampiric bonuses help.

How to confirm Past Glory completed

The activity closes out after you loot the transport. You will see the quest clear from the journal, the Ring of the Night land in your inventory, and Xanthe’s Anger Level tick upward in the Court panel.

If it has not completed, the reason is almost always one of two things. Either an enemy is still alive somewhere along the road — stragglers can wander during a long fight — or you cleared the escort and left without searching the bodies, which leaves the second objective open. Retracing the path and looting everything resolves both.

Past Glory is worth doing even once Xanthe’s Anger is already maxed. Three time segments for a legendary ring and three combat manuals is one of the better returns on the clock in her region, and the second artifact transport, When Two Dogs…, follows the same intercept-and-loot pattern if you want to run both back to back.
