Fudo is one of seven stone-carved Ancient Idols scattered across Skycrest, the floating island added to Fisch on September 5, 2026. Each idol hands out five trials, and clearing them pushes your Idol Favor level while feeding the stat Charm tied to that idol. Fudo’s set is built around precision fishing, so the trials are less about rare spawns and more about controlling the minigame.
Quick answer: Perfect Catch five fish in a row, stall a common fish’s minigame past 60 seconds with a Flimsy Rod at Moosewood, chain 10 Perfect Casts and Perfect Catches, directly catch 10 Giant fish at Skycrest under a Sundial Totem High Weight buff, then land a Perfect Catch on a Hunt Fish while the Artisan Rod is equipped. Return to Fudo after each one to bank the Favor.
The five Fudo trials and what each one asks for
| Trial | Requirement | Where to do it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Perfect Catch 5 Fish in a row | Anywhere |
| 2 | Maintain a catch minigame against a Common Fish for 60+ Secs | Moosewood |
| 3 | Perfect Cast and Perfect Catch 10 Fish in a row | Anywhere |
| 4 | Directly Catch 10 Giant fish at Skycrest | Skycrest |
| 5 | Perfect Catch any Hunt Fish with Artisan Rod | Anywhere a hunt can spawn |
Note: only the fourth trial is locked to Skycrest itself. The other four can be knocked out at whatever spot gives you the easiest fish, then turned in when you head back up.

Gear to line up before you start
| Item | Used for | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Flimsy Rod | Trial 2 stalling | Starter rod |
| Sundial Totem | Trial 4 High Weight buff | Totem Carver |
| Evil Pitchfork Rod, Sea Overlord, Sea Prince | Trial 4 Giant fish setup | Existing collection |
| Artisan Rod | Trial 5, mandatory | Elder Kaito’s weekly shop, 80,000 C$ |
| Megalodon Hunt Totem | Trial 5 hunt spawn | Totem Carver |
| Tryhard Worm Bait | Trial 5 hook speed | Bait supply |
Elder Kaito’s stock rotates weekly, so if the Artisan Rod is not listed when you check, trial 5 has to wait for a refresh. Everything else can be prepared before you ever climb the waterfall.
Trials 1 and 3: Perfect Cast and Perfect Catch streaks
These two are the same skill at two difficulty levels. Trial 1 only counts the catch half, so five clean reel-ins on any basic fish clears it. Trial 3 adds the cast, meaning the casting bar has to stop inside the green zone and the reel-in has to finish without a miss, 10 times back to back.

One failed catch resets the counter to zero for both trials, so it is faster to fish somewhere forgiving for 10 straight attempts than to grind a difficult spot.
Trial 2: Hold a common fish’s minigame for 60 seconds
This one rewards bad gear. A weak rod fills the progress bar slowly, which is exactly what you want when the goal is to stay in the minigame for over a minute without finishing it.

Trial 4: Directly catch 10 Giant fish at Skycrest
Giant is a weight condition, so the fix is to stack weight luck rather than hunt a specific species. This is the only Fudo trial that has to happen on the island itself.
Trial 5: Perfect Catch a Hunt Fish with the Artisan Rod
The final trial has a hard gate. It will not tick unless the Artisan Rod is the rod in your hands, which means buying it from Elder Kaito for 80,000 C$ before anything else.

Claiming the rewards and confirming progress
Each cleared trial has to be turned in at the Fudo idol. Interact with it, claim, and your Idol Favor rises, with the Idol Level counter on screen ticking up as you hand in successive trials. That is your confirmation the trial registered.
Fudo’s payout is the Endurance Charm, which upgrades as you keep feeding the idol. Charms slot into the Crest Amulet handed to you by the Keeper of the Sky, and the amulet opens more slots, up to nine, as your Idol Favor level climbs. Charms also gain levels from ordinary fishing in Skycrest, so the trials and the grind stack.
Tip: clearing five trials from any single Ancient Idol also satisfies the requirement Ryusei sets before he lets you wish for a limited-time rod. Finishing Fudo’s set therefore counts twice.
If a trial refuses to advance, the cause is almost always one of four things: the streak was broken by an imperfect cast or a dropped bar, the stall ended before 60 seconds, the Giant fish were caught somewhere other than Skycrest, or the Artisan Rod was not equipped for the hunt catch. Fix the condition and the counter starts moving again on the next cast.
