Isbrand’s Plate is one of the few legendary chestpieces in The Blood of Dawnwalker that you cannot buy, farm, or stumble into. It only appears in a single chest, in a single room, at the tail end of a long chain of night quests tied to the vampiress Lacra. Miss the room and the piece is gone with it.
Quick answer: Finish Vicho’s questline in Svartrau, track down Lacra, travel with her to the hidden Uriash village, then loot the chest on the right side of the boss room at the end of Hive and Seek before you leave the area.
Requirements before you start the chain
Every quest in this chain runs at night. Coen needs his vampiric abilities for the rooftop traversal and the fights, and several of the NPCs involved simply are not available during the day. If a marker looks dead, advance time to night and check again.
The chestpiece is medium armour. Without medium armour proficiency, its stats are cut by 30 percent, so the raw numbers you see on the tooltip may not be what you actually get.

Where the Isbrand’s Plate chest is in Hive and Seek
You know it worked when the legendary chestpiece lands in your inventory with the flavour line “As you run your fingers over the leather, you can feel the familiar tingle of corruption.” Loot it before you leave, because the story moves Coen and Lacra out of the caves with Isbrand immediately afterwards.
Isbrand’s Plate stats and effects
Armour value and effect strength both scale with the level the piece rolls at, so two players can pick up very different versions of the same chestpiece. Base weight is 6.40, and it sells for 244 with a buy value of 1,464 at level 1.
| Stat | Level 1 | Level 24 | Level 50 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Armour | 75 | 226 | 516 |
| Maximum Vampiric Health | +13% | +18.7% | +39% |
| Claw Critical Hit Chance | +4% | +5.8% | +12% |
| Claw Critical Hit Damage | +6% | +8.6% | +18% |
| Blood Drinking Restoration | +15% | +21.6% | +45% |
Note: the effect list leans entirely into claw damage and blood sustain, which makes it a night-form piece first and a defensive piece second.
Why the chest or the quest won’t trigger
- It is daytime. Vicho, the alley trail, the Crown Rock meeting, and the conversation with Lacra inside the village all require night.
- Vicho’s questline is unfinished. Without the boss fight at the end of it, Lacra never becomes a lead and A Friend Like This will not start.
- Focus Mode is off in the alley. The tracking clues on the city’s edge are invisible otherwise.
- You left the boss room too early. The chest is in the room where Isbrand is, and the quest moves you on once you exit.
Because The Blood of Dawnwalker pushes the clock forward every time you take on a quest, this whole chain costs real time in a run where time is the scarce resource. If you plan to build around claws and blood drinking, it is worth the nights. If you do not, at least walk out of the cave with the chest looted, since there is no second chance at it.
