Anime Squadron: How to Evolve Ichigo Into Horn of Salvation

Every Divine Reckoning requirement, the material list, and the AFK-friendly route through the Calamity Event.

Every Divine Reckoning requirement, the material list, and the AFK-friendly route through the Calamity Event.

Update 4.0 dropped a pile of Bleach-flavored content into Anime Squadron, and the headline unit is Ichigo. Pulling him is only half the job. The Secret version, Ichigo (True), has to clear a long special quest and eat a specific set of materials before he becomes Ichigo (Horn of Salvation), a Divine rarity unit. The path is grindy, but most of it can be done with barely any input.

Quick answer: Own Ichigo (True), finish all five Divine Reckoning objectives, then gather 1x Salvation Core, 1x Horn of Salvation, the Broken Zanpakuto, and 10,000 Gold to awaken him into Ichigo (Horn of Salvation).

Getting Ichigo (True) from the Calamity Banner

Ichigo (True) sits on the Calamity Banner as a Secret unit with a 0.025% drop rate. That number is the gate on this entire evolution, because nothing else in the chain can start until the base unit is in your inventory. There is no crafting shortcut to him.

The good news is that summoning on the Calamity Banner is also one of the five quest objectives, so pulls you spend hunting for him count toward the evolution anyway. Update 4.0 also added the Wahrwelt, Soul Palace, and Soul City maps, which is where the rest of the grind takes place.

Divine Reckoning quest requirements

Divine Reckoning is a Special Quest with five separate objectives. All of them have to be finished before the awakening option unlocks, and they track independently, so you can chip away at several at once.

ObjectiveRequirement
Trial of SalvationComplete the Calamity Event 50 times
Blade UnboundDeal 50M damage with Ichigo (True)
Zanpakuto AwakensSummon on the Calamity Banner 150 times
Almighty’s FallDefeat Yubacha (The Almighty) 30 times
Ascend BeyondReach Level 50 on Ichigo (True)

Two of these overlap neatly. Running the Calamity Event with Ichigo (True) on your team feeds Trial of Salvation, Blade Unbound, and his level at the same time. Yubacha (The Almighty) kills come from the event content as well, so the only objective that needs separate resources is the 150 summons.

Clearing the Calamity Event AFK with Preset Teams

Fifty Calamity Event clears sounds brutal until you use the Preset Team option the event ships with. Preset Teams hand you a ready-made lineup for the stage, which means you do not need your own roster to be strong enough to carry the run. That is what makes this grind survivable for newer accounts.

Open the Calamity Event and pick the Wahrwelt stage you want to farm. Act 1 is the standard target because it is the shortest reliable clear.
Select the Preset Team option before starting the run. The game supplies the units, so your own lineup is not required to hold the lane.
Watch the first full run end to end before walking away. If the preset clears cleanly once, it will clear repeatedly, and you can leave it looping.

Note: Preset Teams do not progress Blade Unbound, since that objective needs damage dealt specifically by Ichigo (True). Alternate between preset runs for clear count and manual runs with Ichigo slotted in for the damage total and his level.

Evolution materials and where to get them

Finishing Divine Reckoning does not evolve the unit by itself. The awakening consumes a separate material set, and each piece comes from a different corner of the update.

MaterialAmountSource
Salvation Core1x“The Power to Protect” special quest
Horn of Salvation1xCalamity Event Shop, 25,000 Reijatsu Crystals
Broken Zanpakuto1xSoul City (Destroyed) Act 1 Squadron Stage
Gold10,000General gameplay

Reijatsu Crystals are the Calamity Event currency, so the 25,000 needed for the Horn of Salvation accumulates from the same runs you are already doing for Trial of Salvation. The Broken Zanpakuto is the one item that pulls you out of the event entirely and into the Soul City (Destroyed) Squadron stage, so plan a detour there rather than assuming it drops from Wahrwelt.

Confirming the awakening worked

With every objective ticked and all four material lines satisfied, the awakening button becomes usable on Ichigo (True). Confirming it consumes the base unit and the materials, and the entry in your inventory is replaced by Ichigo (Horn of Salvation) at Divine rarity. If the card still reads Ichigo (True) after the animation, the evolution did not go through.

When it fails to trigger, the cause is almost always one of a short list. An objective sitting at 49 of 50 clears, the Horn of Salvation not actually purchased from the event shop, a missing Broken Zanpakuto because the Soul City (Destroyed) run was skipped, or Ichigo (True) parked below Level 50.

What Ichigo (Horn of Salvation) brings to a team

The evolved unit carries Twin Zangetsu, Dual Wield, and True Shikai alongside Mastery Realization on his passive list. His leader ability is the part worth building around, adding 30% damage to all Peroxide units and 10% damage to all Holy-element units, which makes him the anchor slot rather than a bench pick.

His ultimate, Getsuga Tenshou + Gran Rey Cero, deals 750% damage on a 140-second global cooldown. That is a long window between casts, so treat it as a boss-phase button instead of something you fire on wave clear.

The whole chain rewards patience more than skill. Set the Calamity Event running with a Preset Team, swap in Ichigo (True) periodically to bank damage and levels, and bank Reijatsu Crystals in the background until the Horn of Salvation is affordable. The Broken Zanpakuto detour is the only step that genuinely requires your attention.
